Jailbreaking pioneers say iPhone jailbreaking is dead by MGFusion in apple

As per u/Apple_Juicer's comment from Jay Freeman, the man behind Cydia:

I dare you to find a single place where I have ever said that. I said I no longer recommend jailbreaking to people, but that is fundamentally not the same as recommending people do not jailbreak. I firmly believe that people should do whatever the hell they want to do with the devices they own. Do some damned legitimate journalism: this is ludicrous.

We'll leave this thread up tagged as inaccurate since there's some good discussion and reminiscing going on.

I think it's necessary to keep in mind that Christianity is a belief. Like anything else there is a scale of how people commit since at the end humanity is at its foundation. I think you'd find similar with any other belief.

If I can say one thing, Catholicism in my view is (if I can be strong) a very warped version of Christianity. That might fit under some kind of fallacy, but the over-emphasis on Sin and addition of human-created tradition is at odds with the new testament and what I believe the core message of Christianity is about. Had I grown up in the Catholic church I'm sure I would have been put off as well. The additions to the Bible, praying to Mary, and the addition of all the extra steps to get to God and level up as a Christian are just so not Biblical at all. I'm a believer that the Bible is what we are to rely on to outline our faith, not a lot of the human additions you see in the Catholic church.

As for Acts 4:32-35 I take it for what it is and it's a pretty beautiful picture. Life is temporary, we can't take our possessions with us. We should be helping out those in need and share what has been given to us (entrusted to us by God could you say?) to help those in need. I think it's as simple as that.

I certainly could give more away so I'm not perfect, but it is something that I believe all Christians should be doing.

As a counterpoint, when I became a Christian I felt I had a higher standard for my behaviour. I didn't originally always want to do things that were right if they were costly personally (ie. time, humility, finances), but I knew I should and ended up doing them.

Now it's just a habit and I'm proud of the difference compared to where I used to be. Becoming a Christian has made me grow a lot personally.

Kinetic energy taking out load bearing columns definitely can start a chain reaction however. Gravitational energy, swapped to kinetic energy in the form of a concrete slab falling at speed causes issues.

Disclaimer: Not saying it would have been enough, but there are other factors at play too besides for fire.

Haha that's what my thought was too. Just seems so unrelated to their business, seems like they (and many others) are just trying to catch a ride on these issues to get some company goodwill going.

It's Lenovo advertising a random Cider, a pun on the word 'come', and then 'powered by Intel i7' when nothing about the post has an i7.

I think personally I was just surprised to see a pun with 'come' coming from a Computer manufacturer printed onto a Cider can.

Personally I find it a bit out of scope too. Nothing wrong with the message though.

For those unaware, Lenovo is (was?) an extremely large laptop and electronics manufacturer.

Discord is much more open to joining users, and is in fact very similar to Slack in the way it operates.

Nope, it's still running. We were originally partnering with them but they decided it would be best to keep their own community. But the new one is probably more active.

This is the amount received from Earth, not transmitted which is also measured in watts. How does the analogy not stand up?

In iOS 11, Safari will strip out Google AMP links for shared stories. by AdamCannon in apple

Sure, but some might argue that enables the developer to keep the price low. I don't see the problem with it if a choice is offered.

At the end of the day it's a free market and you can find another app anyway. If they removed the choice after you've paid for it then I feel like it would be an issue.

I'm pretty sure that's optional. You can disable that 'acceptable Ads' list in the App.
