  2. Watch this, Twitter. Watch this now. I promise you have never seen anything like it.

  3. TFW you look up into the night sky, see Saturn, Jupiter and Mars, and realize: there are spacecraft orbiting *all* of them right now.

  4. has learned to accept my space-twitter obsession.

#ScienceDog curled up next to my leg while my laptop is on my lap
  5. Shoutout to Europa on the press conference. Looking forward to !

  6. is the first solar-powered mission to the outer planets! (Good to be able to do it, because plutonium is not so easy to get.)

  7. That movie showed us that Callisto was less bright than expected — new science from already!

  8. On press conference now: a movie taken upon approach that shows the moons orbiting Jupiter. First ever view like this.

  9. Press conference in progress: A lot of very relieved, very happy mission scientists.

  10. Hello Jupiter! I hope you and are having fun getting acquainted way out there! 😊

Picture of night sky and tree and tiny white dot that is Jupiter
  11. Me: OK we can go see fireworks now : Fireworks are over. Notice lack of booming? Me: Oh. Me: Wanna go see Jupiter? SciBabe: Sure!

  12. More good news! is now oriented properly to charge up with its solar cells! EVERYTHING IS GOOD WE CAN RELAX!

  13. Also is scheduled to be doing this in September 2017. :(

  14. (where by “somewhat distressing” I mean it made me say “Oh God!” and whimper a little)

  15. If you want to see a somewhat distressing depiction of ’s eventual de-orbit into Jupiter, check this out

  16. Assuming all goes well, will give us amazing science for 20 months, doing 37 orbits. Then, the euphemistic “de-orbit” into Jupiter.

  17. NASA's Juno probe is now orbiting Jupiter, aiming to solve space mysteries

  18. As soon as achieved its PERFECT ORBIT the fireworks really got going here. Pretty sure everyone was waiting to be sure.
