ਲੰਡਨ
ਲੰਡਨ (ਅੰਗਰੇਜ਼ੀ: London; ਪਾਠ: /ˈlʌndən/) ਇੰਗਲੈਂਡ ਦੀ ਰਾਜਧਾਨੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਅਤੇ ਅਹਿਮ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਹੈ।[5] ਇਹ ਇੰਗਲੈਂਡ ਦੇ ਉੱਘੇ ਦਰਿਆ ਥੈਮਸ ਦੇ ਕਿਨਾਰੇ ਵਸਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।[6] ਕਲਾ, ਫ਼ੈਸ਼ਨ, ਅਰਥਿਕਤਾ, ਸੱਭਿਆਚਾਰ, ਸਿੱਖਿਆ, ਮਨੋਰੰਜਨ ਆਦਿ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਹ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਮੋਹਰੀ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਹੈ। ਇਸਨੂੰ ਰੋਮਨ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਵਸਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਂ ਲੰਡੀਨੀਅਮ (Londinium;[5] ਜਾਂ ਰੋਮਨ ਲੰਡਨ) ਰੱਖਿਆ ਸੀ।
ਇਹ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਉੱਘਾ ਸੈਰ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਹੈ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਯੂਨੈਸਕੋ ਵਰਲਡ ਹੈਰੀਟੇਜ ਸਾਈਟਸ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਚਾਰ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਹਨ। ਇਸਨੇ 1908, 1948 ਅਤੇ 2012 ਵਿੱਚ ਸਮਰ ਓਲੰਪਿਕ ਖੇਡਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੇਜ਼ਬਾਨੀ ਵੀ ਕੀਤੀ।
