I've written about entertainment — mostly music, but a little bit of TV, movies, and gaming — for The Verge since June 2015. I graduated from the University of Waterloo a year before that with a degree in chemical engineering, a degree I'm now putting to good use as a professional music critic. I wrote for publications like Pitchfork, Billboard, and TIME before joining The Verge.

Addressed this in the comment above, but "over a year" refers to the gap between the release dates of the two expansions.

The Taken King was released on September 15th, 2015, and Rise of Iron is going to come out on September 20th, 2016. That’s just over a year. And while the April Update made the day-to-day grind a lot more enjoyable, they cobbled the strike together out of existing environments and remixed the Prison of Elders. It’s not enough for me to call it "major."
