Netflix gets global streaming rights to FX's American Crime Story

Netflix just nabbed the global rights to the first season of FX's popular American Crime Story series, The People v. O.J. Simpson. The 10-episode season, structured like a standalone mini-series, follows the 1995 trial of O.J. Simpson (played by Cuba Gooding Jr.) for the murder of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman.
The People v. O.J. Simpson was widely well-received by critics for its intimate, complex look at the main players in the O.J. trial, including Robert Kardashian (David Schwimmer) and prosecutor Marcia Clark (Sarah Paulson). This is Netflix's first global agreement with 20th Century Fox; all future seasons of American Crime Story will also air on Netflix following their original broadcasts. The entire first season will air globally on Netflix (except in Canada — sorry Canada!) beginning in 2017.
