There are three licensing/pricing options for students and educators described below, along with information explaining how to purchase the version that best suits your needs.
SolidWorks Education Edition
A complete suite of 3D CAD software tools for design, simulation, analysis, and documentation, used by educational institutions for classroom use. It includes SolidWorks Sustainability for Life Cycle Assessment analysis. Optional Student Access provides SolidWorks software use to students outside the classroom.
SolidWorks Education Edition is distributed through our network of value-added resellers.

SolidWorks University Research License
SolidWorks commercial software, installed on a university campus, for work in research, government, or industry where product, patents or publication is the desired outcome.

Students can purchase the SolidWorks Student Edition through the SolidWorks Student Store or through our network of SolidWorks Online Campus Bookstores. Proof of student status is required.
