birth. Succeeded on the death of his father, and ascended
the gadi at the Nyasal Chowk, Hanuman Dhoka
Palace, Basantapur, Katmandu, 14th March 1955.
Crowned at the Nyasal Chowk, Hanuman Dhoka Palace,
Basantapur, Katmandu, 2nd May 1956. Supreme
C-in-C Royal Nepalese Army, and Sovereign of the Royal
Orders, from that date. Ascended the ancestral gadi
at Gorkha, 4th January 1959. Field Marshal,
Royal Nepalese Army 2/5/1956. Hon Gen British Army
2/5/1956, prom Field Marshal 17/10/1960, and
Colonel-in-Chief the Brigade of Gurkhas 28/10/1971-1972.
