How can OpenStack standardize cloud computing?
People gravitate toward the best ideas. In 2004, Linux® was a lot like OpenStack® is today. OpenStack is growing fast, supported by a community of individuals and enterprises, and creates a standard platform we can all use to build open, massively scalable clouds. That's why we believe OpenStack represents the best of what cloud technology offers.
The top 3 reasons companies deploy OpenStack: greater operational efficiency, ability to innovate, and cost savings.

Developers and technologists from around the world collaborate on OpenStack to create tools for building and managing public and private clouds. OpenStack's development, distribution, and adoption are overseen by the OpenStack Foundation, an independent body providing shared resources, whose mission is:
To help achieve the OpenStack mission by protecting, empowering, and promoting OpenStack software and the community around it, including users, developers and the entire ecosystem.
How can you get involved?
RDO is a community of people using and deploying OpenStack on Red Hat® Enterprise Linux, Fedora, and distributions derived from these (such as CentOS, Scientific Linux, and others). The RDO community covers all things related to using OpenStack on Red Hat-based platforms. RDO is also an incubator and proving ground for features that are eventually incorporated into Red Hat's commercial offering, Red Hat OpenStack Platform.

We believe OpenStack is where Linux was a decade ago. It has attracted the best and brightest developers and companies to contribute to its success, and to create a standard, open platform for building the next generation of IT.
Today's disruption becomes an inevitability. That's where we think OpenStack is,
and why we believe it represents the best of what open cloud technology offers.
