With three months left in 2016, visitation at Crater Lake National Park has already easily topped the previous record established in 2015. So far 702,050 people have visited the park, compared with 614,712 for 2015, which was the first year the visitor total topped a half-million. Crater Lake Superintendent Craig Ackerman said the increases are partially the result of the National Park Service's ongoing Centennial Celebration and its "Find Your Park" campaign.
