I would like to see an option to disable the scroll to zoom functionality, so users can just scroll over the iframe without zooming in.

I have the same problem. Have you find a solution?

I've positioned a div ontop of the iframe to prevent the zooming. If you click on this div 'pointerEvents' gets set to 'none' which enables you to use the map normally and whenever you mouseout of the iframe the 'pointerEvents' gets set back to normal so you can scroll over the iframe again.

pointerEvents:none is not a solution. It prevents the user from interacting with the map in any way. Essentially turning it into a static image with a huge overhead.

Comment proposes a solution that would set pointerEvents:none until a user clicks on the map. After a click a user can interact with the map. On mouseOut pointerEvents are set back to none. Not great, but better than nothing.
