User tracking on a GMSMapView would be fairly trivial to implement by the SDK consumer, but it would be a nice-to-have as an automatic property.

Preferably with both a "Follow" and a "FollowWithHeading" mode.

Yes, I would like to see this too - particularly the "Follow With Heading" mode, which would automatically rotate the map based on the compass heading.

It's nice to see the settings.myLocationButton added in SDK 1.2.0.

However this functionality is very limited compared to what is available in MapKit (or indeed, the Google Maps app).

To be clear, the functionality I (and, I suspect, everyone else!) would like to see is:

 - On first tap, the button's icon turns blue and the map goes into "follow user location" mode. The map automatically pans as the user moves around so that the "user location dot" stays in the middle of the GMSMapView. Any user gesture that moves the camera cancels this mode.

- On a second tap, the map goes into "follow with heading" mode. The camera is automatically rotated towards the current compass heading, continuing to follow it until it is cancelled by a user gesture or another tap.

Perhaps you could just make the (quite nice) implementation of this from the Google Maps app available in the SDK? :)
