IMPORTANT WARNING:it is recommended to uninstall your 1.7.2 version before installing this one. If you hit issues launching 1.8, see below how to clobber your profile. You may have to reinstall your add-ons after that.

IMPORTANT WARNING: updates of all commercial add-ons for this 1.8 will not be sent to users before approximatively 20-oct-2015. If you add-ons don't work with this 1.8, please revert to 1.7.2 possibly deleting your profile as explained below and reinstalling your add-ons under 1.7.2. Similarly, User's Manual v1.8 will be sent around 20-oct-2015 to registered users.

On OS X, if after install of 1.8 and launch you still don't see it Retina on a Retina screen, run /System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/Frameworks/LaunchServices.framework/Support/lsregister -f /Applications/BlueGriffon.app into a terminal (thanks Bogdan Roman for the hint).

JSCSSP

BlueGriffon uses its own CSS parser to preserve all CSS at-rules and rules, even if they're not understood by Gecko (the rendering engine inside Firefox that's also the heart of BlueGriffon). That's necessary to preserve for instance properties like -webkit-transform even if Gecko does not understand and preserve them. That parser, JSCSSP is written in cross-browser JavaScript and is released under the tri-license MPL/GPL/LGPL. It's available here.
