As the publisher landscape evolves, we’re constantly looking at how we can develop our products and solutions to help you grow your online business. Your feedback plays a key role in shaping our publisher offerings, and so we hope to hear from you in our upcoming semi-annual publisher survey.

Launching the week of October 15th, the goal of our survey is to collect as much of your feedback as possible. It covers a range of topics across all of our publisher products, ranging from new feature requests to help resources and much more. Since our last survey, we’ve addressed your feedback with new features like in-account policy notifications, responsive ad units, a mobile app for AdSense, and new functionality in the Publisher Toolbar.

We’ll be sending the survey out by email shortly to a sample of publishers. If you’d like to participate, there’s a couple of steps you should take as soon as possible:
  • Ensure your contact information is up to date.
  • Ensure your email preferences are updated so that you’re opted in to receiving ‘occasional survey’ messages.
Whether you’ve filled out every previous survey or you’re providing your feedback for the first time, we’re really grateful for you taking the time to tell us how we’re doing and look forward to hearing your thoughts and ideas!

Over the last few years, Google’s offering for online publishers has grown dramatically: in addition to AdSense, our products now range from AdMob, to DoubleClick for Publishers and the DoubleClick Ad Exchange.

As we continually work on improving our existing offerings, as well as developing new products and service for publishers, we’d like to hear your thoughts and suggestions. Our semi-annual satisfaction survey is a great way for you to share your feedback on AdSense and other publisher products you’re using. Later this month, we’ll be sending our survey to a sample of publishers opted in to receiving “occasional surveys”, so if you’d like to participate, make sure to update your email preferences and contact information.

Your suggestions are valuable, whether they come in via surveys, our product forum, or in-person events, and we regularly use your feedback to make improvements. For example, we recently introduced a new, brand-friendly ad size in AdSense and announced a closer collaboration with you when it comes to fighting invalid activity. Based on your feedback, you can now also benefit from video ad serving in DFP Small Business and AdMob Academy - our comprehensive guide to everything AdMob. It often takes time to develop new ideas and make improvements, but be assured that we read every single one of your comments and take your thoughts on board.

If you want to let us know your thoughts and ideas, don’t miss our survey in the week of April 28th. We look forward to hearing from you, and we appreciate your time.

We’ve seen from our AdSense +page and in-person events that AdSense publishers love to discuss current product features and interact with our team. With this in mind, we’re kicking off a Hangout series with AdSense Product Managers to connect you with the Googlers who look after the AdSense product roadmap. For the series kick-off, we’ve invited Allan Livingston, who has been the AdSense Group Product Manager for 3+ years, to host a Hangout On Air on our AdSense +page. Join the session to meet Allan, hear answers to your AdSense product questions, and learn some AdSense tips.
Join the event

The event will take place this Thursday, March 28th, from 9:00am-9:30am PT (4:00pm-4:30pm GMT) on the AdSense +page. Ask your questions by joining the event and posting your questions in the comments section. Also, feel free to +1 questions previously added by other publishers that you’d like addressed. If you’re not able to view the live session, a recording will be available afterwards on our AdSense YouTube channel.

We look forward to hanging out with you online this week!

It's already a few weeks into the new year, but it's never too late to set resolutions. That’s why today we'd like to share the outcome of our bi-annual publisher satisfaction survey. If you’re opted in to receive occasional surveys from us, you may have seen or filled out this survey. Over 28,000 of you participated globally, and we received more than 33,000 comments on your favorite aspects about AdSense as well as changes you’d like to see.

The main areas of improvement that emerged from the survey are: AdSense Program Policies, AdSense Support, and Communication from AdSense. Your feedback is very important to us and we'd like to share some insights on what we've done in these areas so far and how we want to further improve them. We’re also working on improving in other important areas like payments and we'll continue to report back on those throughout the year.

AdSense Program Policies
Many of your comments in the survey showed that you’re interested in more transparency around our program policies and which ad implementations are allowed. We’ve started adding more resources like our regular blog posts about specifics of our program policies and we're also working on:
  • Making the violation messaging clearer to ensure the actions you need to take are clearly highlighted.
  • Providing you with more information on how to contact the AdSense policy team and where to find important resources.
AdSense Support
We know that it’s important for you to get quick answers to your questions, and that’s why we have a variety of support resources available. However, you’ve told us that you sometimes struggle to find the information you need, or would like to be able to address questions directly to our team. With this in mind, we’d like to address two main points:
  • After a ground-up rebuild of our AdSense Help Center we’ll continue to focus on improving usability and content quality in 2012. We’ll also be testing more personalized support options and want to make the available levels of support clearer for you.
  • In the coming months, we’re hosting events in various countries to give you the opportunity to meet the AdSense team in person, ask questions, and get optimization tips. We want to be more accessible for you, so opt in to our “Special Offers” emails in order to receive event invitations and watch out for more information on our Inside AdSense blog or the AdSense newsletter.
Communication from AdSense
As you might know, in addition to receiving messages in your AdSense account, you can subscribe to receive occasional emails from AdSense with performance suggestions, special offers, and newsletters. We asked for your thoughts on the emails we’ve been sending, and  based on your feedback, here’s where we’ll be focusing on making improvements:
  • We’ll collect and share new case studies focusing especially on small to medium sized publishers, with examples from specific verticals or industries to make our optimization suggestions even more relevant for you and your website.
  • Following your suggestion to feature more local updates, we’ll incorporate local content in our AdSense newsletter, whenever possible.
A big thank you to everyone who participated in this survey! If you’d like to participate and share your thoughts with us in upcoming surveys, make sure you update your email preferences to receive “occasional surveys to help us improve AdSense”.

A couple weeks ago, 32 AdSense Help Forum Top Contributors (TCs) from around the world came to our Mountain View headquarters for a two-day summit, along with almost 300 other product TCs. If you participate in our Help Forum, you've probably noticed the very visible presence of our TCs, who lead product discussions and help answer questions. During the summit, we spent a bit of time discussing opportunities for further collaboration, the development of the TC program and new ideas for Google Forum Communities.

Here are some fun facts about the AdSense TCs:
  • There are 82 AdSense TCs worldwide.
  • TCs posted over 100K times in the last 12 months.
  • 8 of the TCs have posted more than 10K times in the Forum since they joined. We’d like to give a special mention to PeggyK of our English Help Forum, as she’s contributed an amazing 47,972 posts to date!
Thanks to all of the TCs who were able to join us -- we truly enjoyed meeting everyone face-to-face. We appreciate all of the contributions our TCs make to the AdSense community, and look forward to continued collaboration with them going forward.

This year the Google AdSense team will be attending the Games Developer Conference Online (GDC Online) expo on October 10th, 11th and 12th in Austin, Texas.

As part of the GDC Online, we’ll be hosting Google Developer Day where we'll share ways in which publishers can use AdSense and AdMob to monetize their online games, websites and mobile applications. After our session, we're looking forward to chatting with publishers and developers at the conference, and we'll also be available at the Google booth to discuss and demo our AdSense for Games, AdSense for Content and AdMob products.

If you have an online flash game or mobile app and are interested in the potential of earning revenue from ads, we hope you’ll be able to join us on Google Developer Day and visit our booth on the expo floor.  For more information on our presence at GDC Online, including session and speaker details, please visit the event site or read our related post on the Google code blog.

Hope to see you in Austin!

Two weeks ago, we had the pleasure of welcoming 120 of our publishers from Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, and France at an AdSense publisher event in our Google office in Zurich.

The agenda of the day included seminars and presentations about:
  • Trends in the online advertising market and how to use them for your site
  • Our best tips to optimize your AdSense earnings
  • Using DFP Small Business to get more out of AdSense
  • Website usability
  • The truth about common SEO myths

We also offered attendees 1-on-1 site consultations with a Google AdSense optimization specialist and ended the day by kicking back with pizza and beer to get to know one another a little better!

It was great to meet you in person to learn more about your businesses and experience with AdSense. We were thrilled to hear positive feedback from the attendees on the event and hope to offer a similar opportunity in a city near you soon!

Interested in attending future Google AdSense events? Check your Account settings and make sure you’re opted in to our mailings so we can inform you about our upcoming events!

Over the past three weeks, we’ve had the opportunity to meet a bunch of you in person. Through events in San Francisco, Mountain View, Charlotte and Atlanta, we’ve been able to see and optimize some incredible sites, as well as learn directly from you how we can continue to improve your experience with AdSense.

In San Francisco, around 50 publishers joined us in our office to network with one another, work with our optimization specialists, and chat with members of our Policy team for our first AdSense in Your City event of 2011. Since San Francisco is also our city, it was great to meet some local publishers, and watch some business connections form over coffee and snacks in our downtown office.

Mountain View welcomed around 20 new publishers to the Google campus so we could learn more about their experience getting started with AdSense. After discussing some great optimization tips as a group, we got a lot of invaluable feedback over lunch that will enable us to improve the newbie experience for the next generation of AdSensers. Deep diving into our help resources, the new AdSense interface, and our interactive learning materials, we got a lot of suggestions we can act on to improve the way we communicate and teach new publishers to set up and optimize their AdSense implementation. We’d love to hear more ideas about how we can make your first weeks as a publisher better, so feel free to leave us a comment here or join the conversation in our forum.

We just got back to sunny California after two quick days meeting publishers down South. Hosting optimization office hours at a funky Charlotte, NC coffee shop and then jetting off to meet more publishers in our Atlanta office the following day, we covered a lot of ground in an area of the country booming with awesome websites, interesting people, tasty food, and vibrant culture. Two days wasn’t nearly enough time for us to soak it all in, but we were able to leave having provided some great optimization tips to an area of the country that we don’t often get to see in person.

And the journey doesn’t stop here -- we’re planning to visit more cities in 2011, so leave us a comment with where you think we should go next. We hope to see you in your city soon!

AdSense is an international product. We’re available in more than 200 countries and more than 36 different languages. Working with publishers and Googlers from around the globe is one or our favorite things about being on the AdSense team, and we’re proud to welcome readers from all over the world.

After we posted the Behind the Scenes videos in the U.S., many of our international publishers wrote to us saying they would also like to meet their local AdSense teams. So, after countless hours in the production studio, here they are!

Meet the people who help publishers earn more revenue in Australia, Poland, Netherlands, Brazil, Germany, Japan, China, France, South Africa, and the Spanish-speaking world here, or watch the videos below.

If you’re a publisher from any of these markets, feel free to comment and say hi. Your local AdSense team will be excited to hear from you!
