Eoghan runs Intercom. He previously founded an award-winning software design consultancy called Contrast, and co-founded Exceptional, a developer tool startup acquired in 2011 and now a part of Rackspace. He moved from Ireland to San Francisco that year to start Intercom.

Chief Strategy Officer & Co‑founder

Des's role covers many areas including product strategy, content marketing, customer support, and customer education. In addition he frequently represents Intercom when speaking at international conferences on topics such as product management, marketing, customer support, and the challenges of growing a product company.

Des previously co-founded Exceptional (now a part of Rackspace), and prior was a UX designer for web applications.

Ciaran Lee
CTO & Co‑Founder

Ciaran designs and runs Intercom’s scalable architecture, capable of withstanding many billions of requests per month. He built the first version of the Intercom backend, and since has run the infrastructure side of the engineering org, which keeps Intercom available, secure, and performant.

His primary expertise is with the Ruby on Rails framework, with which he has developed several large systems. He was previously lead engineer and CTO of Exceptional.

VP of Product

Paul oversees the Product, Design and Research teams at Intercom. Previously, Paul worked as the Global Head of Brand Design at Facebook (running design projects with partners like Nike, Coca Cola, and Starbucks), and as a Product Manager. He was one of Facebook's foremost speakers on the future of marketing and social design.

Prior to Facebook, Paul worked in the UX team at Google (working on Google+, Gmail, YouTube and Mobile) and before Google he was an Industrial Designer at Dyson. He published his first book, Grouped, in 2011.

Darragh leads and grows Intercom's engineering team. Previously, he worked at Amazon and software design consultancy Contrast. He cares deeply about moving fast and truly exceptional software engineering.

Russ leads the best sales team in SaaS. Previously he was Box's first externally hired manager, and the first member of the SMB team at SuccessFactors—helping both those companies grow from $10M to $100M in revenue.

Kathleen is responsible for driving strategic projects and company operations. Previously, she worked as the Senior Manager of Platform Programs at Box where she oversaw platform marketing, programs and partner outreach. Prior to Box, Kathleen spent six years at Facebook working in a variety of roles including PR, Platform Marketing and Employment Branding.

Matt founded and built out Intercom's marketing team. He joined Intercom from Atlassian, where he ran marketing for their suite of collaboration tools, including HipChat and Confluence.

Dir. of Finance & Analytics

Bobby leads Intercom's Finance and Analytics teams, responsible for all financial reporting and planning, as well as all internal measurement.

He joined Intercom from Inflection, where he developed and owned financial reporting for their subscription based businesses. Previously he was with IBM, where he led forecasting for their services business. Bobby graduated from Stanford with a degree in Management Science & Engineering.

Ben was Intercom's first employee and in 2014 founded our Growth team, which he currently leads. The Growth team is responsible for building product that supports Intercom's go-to-market strategy, including pricing, purchasing experience, signup, new user activation, and more.
