If tariffs are so great, how come you're giving farmers $12 BILLION of our tax dollars -- --to compensate them for what your trade war is costing them? I'd rather they get their money from customers in China than from taxpayers in the US.

Forcible regime change in Iran? What could possibly go wrong? 🤔

One of the biggest reasons for our terrible foreign policies is that the people who were catastrophically wrong about Iraq (and everything since) are still on TV all the time while those who were right about Iraq are still systematically shut out.

Seems to be some confusion here. The government didn’t “break into a lawyer’s office.” The FBI got a judge to sign off on a lawfully-executed search warrant.

The problem w/people saying is all talk and just bluffing re NKorea or Iran or even a full-on trade war--even if it's true--is that sooner or later he will try to prove them wrong.

I've got no objection to confronting China over intellectual property theft and other violations of the WTO. I just wish he wasn't doing it in such as lame and counter-productive way.

, , & keep warning that war with US would be very costly. They're correct. But William Hartung reminds us that this is true for the US as well.

Imagine what Mad King ’s unhinged tweets would look like if Twitter permitted italics and underlining. But they wouldn’t be any more truthful.

As terrifying as it may be, we need to accept the fact we have a President who's incapable of defining the national interest untethered from his own personal demons, needs, and obsessions. Trump is the first all about Me not We President.

Trump exacerbates tensions w/DPRK. Then, he leaps at a chance to “solve” problem in person. He meets Kim, declares the threat eliminated. But little has changed. He’s painted himself into a corner and can’t acknowledge reality w/o looking weak and foolish.

Unbelievable. Although nothing is unbelievable anymore. Republicans refuse to approve funding for cyber security upgrades to protect voting systems from attack. They have money for baby cages & an ego-based military parade. But protecting democracy? Too expensive for them.
