Hello Wikia! We have an exciting new feature to introduce today: the
Community Page, which can be found at
Special:Community across the top 5000 communities on
Wikia! ]] It's just what it sounds like - a place where any readers and
editors can find out more information about your community! This
feature is accessible and open to anyone on your community
(logged-in or logged-out). As a new visitor to a community, you might wonder: If you're reading this, then you're already familiar with staff
blogs here on Community Central. You're reading one right now,
after all! But do you know what else Community Central has to
offer? There's lots to do here beyond reading staff blogs, and we'd
love for you to join us! Community Central is actually the first Wikia community ever
created. Our technical guy at the time (yes, just one!) created it
as the hub of all the future communities to come. Over time, it has
grown into an even mor… Wikians are often at the epicenter of their favorite fandoms.
You represent the biggest experts there are, not to mention that
you have some of the most intense passions for pop culture in the
world. That's why it's not very surprising to know that social
media is an important tool for your community. What better way is
there to talk to other fans and let them know about your
community? Every day, we talk to fans on our own
brand accounts, @getfandom and @Wikia, and we've learned a great
deal ab… Wikia is written by all sorts of fans. From Marvel fanatics to
Trekkers to genealogy enthusiasts and more, everyone can find a
place for their passion in the Home of Fandom. One of the best
parts of working at Wikia is knowing that, like you, the staff in
our office are also superfans. The fact that we're all fans of
something is a big part of what motivates us to make Wikia such an
awesome place for fans. Here in our San Francisco office, we display our passions on the
"Wall of Fandom." This is…

Greetings Wikians! I’m very excited to announce a new feature
today - Curated Main Pages on mobile devices. For most communities the main page is its single most viewed
page. Four out of the top five pages on Wikia are main pages, in
fact, and that makes sense — a search for “Star Wars wiki” is very
likely to return the main page as the first result. Main pages on desktop are typically a large collection of
content, galleries, templates, and design elements, representing
each community very well.… Howdy howdy howdy, Wikians! Today we’re (choo-choo!) hopping on the mobile train. We have
mobile app news and features to share. And oh my goodness these
apps are incredibly popular. Wikia released the first five Community Apps in November of
2013. Simple premise: Wikians produce high-quality, engaging
content, and apps are a good way collect and organize content for
viewers. Since then, we’ve released over 100 iOS apps and more than
80 Android apps, with no end in sight. Combined, these apps
surp… Hello Wikians! This week you’ll start to see something new at
the top of article pages — buttons for sharing your community’s
work via social media. These options will make it easier for both editors and readers
to get your wikia’s expertly-crafted content out into the wider fan
universe for your topic. Comments, likes, reblogs, and retweets can
indicate how useful and relevant a page is for others. Some of
those readers might even come visit and make some contributions of
their own!
The logged-in user experience offers a number of benefits on Wikia.
Registered accounts have features like Notifications, Chat, and the
ability to follow articles and discussions, just to name a few. In
the coming months we’ll be working to highlight these benefits more
and see what we can do to drive more readers and anonymous editors
to create accounts. With more motivations and prompts to return to
a community, a user with an account is much more likely to become
an active contributor and d…

AFOREST is a way of persuasion but why should we use it?
Well because... Why not. AFOREST stands for Addressing
the Audience, Facts, Opinions of Authority ,
Rhetorical Questions, Emotive Language,
Statistics and Triples. Let go through each of
them. Well to start, my adoption went through and I was quite pleased.
There was no fanfare or shouts just an active link at the bottom of
the page that said Admin. As I started poking around and looking for issues to fix I began
looking in to previous members and admins. I was shocked to see
that the wiki was founded around 2004, and it has been in existence
since then. Obviously, the Wiki changed hands from time to time but
the one thing that prevailed during all this time was the integrity
of the i… Well come to Weegeepedia! We are a fanon community inspired by
both the Weegee meme itself and the former Weegee fad! We have our
own canon, and we would be interested in seeing what you could add
on to it! Weegee is a character based on a sprite found in the educational
game Mario is Missing! Eventually, a LUElinks user
named MonkeyintheCloset remade the sprite into a vectorized
image. This became …
