Government plans to rename airports after cities, not people by rohansamal in india

"A simple google search tells ne otherwise."

Those people that were arrested were just mere pawns used by high ranking Congress leaders who have evaded justice themselves all these years.

Until the people who organized this scheme are punished, people like Jagdish Tytler, Sajjan Kumar and Kamal Nath are put in jail or executed, only then will the victims of '84 have received justice.

What a mockery of a justice system that has allowed people who instigated to pogroms against a minority group to live freely and in relative affluence for all these decades.

"What's the problem? The agreement looks fair to me. It's Punjab which is preventing SYL from happening when they agreed to do so in 1982.. Compare this to the treaty between Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. Punjab got it's fair share."

You clearly have no idea what you are talking about, because you are trying to compare Punjab's situation with the situation between Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, which displays your fundamental misunderstanding of the matter at hand.

Tamil Nadu and Karnataka are both riparian states with respect to the Cauvery River, meaning that the Cauvery River runs through both states, Karnataka is the upper riparian state and Tamil Nadu is the lower riparian state. That means that the Cauvery River originates in Karnataka and flows through Karnataka before going into Tamil Nadu.

Punjab is the only riparian state in its water dispute with Haryana and Rajasthan. None of Punjab's river's flow through Haryana or Rajasthan, they only flow in Punjab and according to riparian law which is the benchmark for water law globally, that makes that river water Punjab's. No if's, and's or but's about it. Comparing Punjab's water sharing problem with the problem between Karnataka and Tamil Nadu is wrong, as they are 2 completely different situation according to riparian law.

Haryana demanding water from Punjab's river's is the equivalent of Punjab demanding water from the Yamuna river should go to Punjab.

ELI5, if Haryana is entitled to Punjab's river water from the Sutlej River, then how come Punjab isn't entitled to water from the Yamuna River?

Remind me again, how many people went to jail for the 1984 Anti-Sikh pogroms, in which at least 3,325 Sikhs were killed?

That's right, zero.

Sikhs haven't been awarded any justice through the Indian legal system for the atrocities of 1984.

Sikhs haven't been delivered any justice from a legal system that is dominated by Hindus. Punjab has never had a Supreme Court verdict on the issue of water sharing ruled in its favor in the history of the state, literally every single SC verdict has come out in favor of Haryana in terms of sharing Punjab's river water.

Punjab has always been treated unfairly by the central government, and its no coincidence that Punjab is the only Sikh majority state in India and is always ruled against by a Hindu-dominated Supreme Court in favor of Haryana, a Hindu majority state.

Punjab is home to 76% of all Sikhs and despite all of the contributions that Punjab has made to the country, yet Punjab and the Sikhs remain the most exploited state and minority group in India. Punjab has been systematically looted of its river water which has been arbitrarily given out to the non-riparian states of Haryana and Rajasthan without giving Punjab any compensation.

River water is an incredibly precious natural resource, especially in South Asia, and Punjab's river water was taken from it and given to Rajasthan as punishment by Indira Gandhi, because the Akalis were the only party that had the fortitude to stand up to Indira Gandhi and her tyrannical actions during the Emergency period.

35,000 arrested after Nitish Kumar's liquor ban, Bihar needs more jails: "We are thinking of enhancing capacity of jails to house more inmates arrested under new liquor law," Excise and Prohibition minister Abdul Jalil Mastan said. by User_Name13 in india

Here you have a Bihar, one of the most impoverished, overpopulated and backwards states in India, doing exactly something that one of the most backwards states would do.

Actually locking people up for jail sentences for drinking, this seems less like law and order and more like a way to control the population.

There's so many other things in Bihar that are in dire need of funding but instead they are considering doubling down on this ridiculous prohibition by building more jails for the offenders.

Prohibition doesn't work, they tried it here in the US and all it ended up doing was increasing crime, creating organized crime like bootlegging mafias and drive revenue that otherwise could've gone to the state, underground in the hands of criminals.

"Not going to address me calling you out"

Not to take away from your heroic moment, but we do have a set of rules here and I'm not going to make a special exception for you.

Either follow the rules or go participate in another sub.

If you see other people here calling other people shills, then you are free to report the rule violation and it will be dealt with accordingly.

You called another user here shill, that is a violation of rule 10 of /r/conspiracy.

Repeating that violation will result in a ban from /r/conspiracy.

If you can't make your point without accusing someone of being a shill, or making a personal attack against them, simply downvote, ignore and move on.

If everyone on this sub went around calling everyone they disagree with a shill, it would be quite the shit show, I'm sure you understand.

Stop calling people shills and you'll stop getting your comments removed.

Furthermore, when you take into account that the railways were only ever constructed in the first place to move natural resources from India's hinterlands to the coast for export that largely benefited British interests, the level of injustice is truly quantified.
