I would like to edit some of the cross reference names. I found this page: https://help.libreoffice.org/Writer/Modifying_Cross-References But the Edit - Field is still shaded out.
My system is as follows:

As far as I've seen the port for Android looks like a shame compared to the moon jumps that the PC, Mac and Linux branch have done.
Hi all,
I am currently having two problems with Libre Office Impress (latest version, just upgraded) when trying to view a .pptx file:
When using the notes view, it shows only the notes and not the actual slide. If I click properties and then click the layout icon, it fixes it for that page, but only for that page. Is there a way to apply that to all pages, or at least make a shortcut key to perform that action? (I don't seem to have the record macro option, even though I enabled it from tools->options->advanced).
When viewing the slides as a slideshow, the slides are completely messed up. For each slide, I see (roughly, from left to right on the screen) the right quarter of the slide, followed by black, then white, then the right quarter again, then more black.
Any hints on how to resolve these issues, if they are resolvable, would be most appreciated! Running on Windows 10.
Thanks
I selected some text, created a section with two columns, and I selected "Evenly distribute content to all comuns". This is what happened. Any idea what's happening? There are no blank lines, nothing wrong with the text.
Most of the times this doesn't happen.
Trying to figure this out as I am having one hell of a time making an invoice in Base and trying to understand it all.
Has it been implemented yet? Last time I checked it was reported in March 2017 and I was wondering if there's now the ability to touch scroll.
Hi,
I am trying to use LibreOffice 6.1 on my XPS13 9360 and the icons looks like this :
https://i.redd.it/6ayxmm56urk11.png
I tried to disable openGL and hardware acceleration but no luck.
The only way to have normal looking icons is by setting windows scaling factor to 100% instead of my usual 150%. My screen is 1080p.
Do you have any idea on how to solve this ?
Hallo,
I'm using 6.0.5.2 on RHEL 7.5 and I have to work with CSV files quite often (reports generated from scripts). Today I noticed that LO has a serious problem with IPv4 addresses (IPs and subnet masks). Some IPs get imported as they should while others lose the dots. I can't recognize a scheme but anyway LO shouldn't change the data at all. When I look at the format menu the column is marked as "number" but obviously it cannot be a number if it contains 3 dots, so LO should autoformat as "Text".
Works: 10.112.0.171
Does not work: 10111216147 10111216148
For now as a quick workaround my scripts generate CSV with quotes. The quotes get imported into the cells as well, so then I mark all columns as "Text" and do a global search+replace from " to <nothing> but this is quite ugly.
Any ideas? Any setting in the "open file" dialog I could use but have not understood?
Tschau...Thomas
Hi Guys,
I tried the experimental feature of Libreoffice, mainly the ribbon, and now i cant revert back the changes. How do i get back the old look of Libreoffice? I cant find an option to remove the ribbon. Thanks.
Hi everyone.
I was just wondering if it was possible to insert HTML into a document such as the repl.it code window or other things like youtube videos.
Thanks.
Hi there,
so my Windows 10 is in us-en and I want to use the full german spelling check. While installing I already installed the german languague and LibreOffice is in german but I can't choose geman spelling check. There are only various variants of english, france and spanish.
How can I add/use the german spelling check?
I installed this: https://github.com/RaitaroH/LibreOffice-BreezeDark
But the toolbar stays white. Also installing FF themes is broken, known bug with LibreOffice.
It's a shame they don't have a default dark theme, even just installing BreezeDark is way more effort than it should be, Office 365 comes with two dark themes included.
The word count function in my installation of Writer (5.1.6.2 Linux Mint) is buggy. When I open a document and check the word count I typically am told its at 0. Occassionally it'll give me a proper word count though. I don't know why this is ... I don't think I do anything different.
Any simple solutions out there? I did a search for this problem to see if it was widespread but didn't come across anything.
I had LO 6.0.6 installed on Kubuntu 18.04. I added the PPA for LO 6.1 to my settings in Discover. I thought it would just upgrade my 6.0.6 install. It installed 6.1 to another directory. I have two versions of LO installed. The process corrupted my profile. I had no menus nor toolbars in 6.0.6. I had to delete my profile and then the missing items returned. I have no menus in 6.1. I have the menubar button on my toolbar but it doesn't work. I do not have the LibreOffice starting page in 6.1. I only have the individual programs, Writer6.1, Calc6.1,Impress6.1,etc, listed in my launcher. How can I get back to having one LO set, preferably 6.1. Are there any "Gotcha's" to be aware of?
I'm trying to create some flyers (and save to pdf), which will have no white borders when printed/viewed as PDF.
First time using LO - Have managed to insert background using page formatting, and convert to pdf. However, everytime I view the pdf, it still has white borders on the side. What setting allows me to have the background cover the entire page - all the way up to the edges?
Greetings. First post from a lurker.
I am a truck driver working a 5 days on, 2 days off, 5 days on, 3 days off schedule.
I am trying to build a calendar where, in a cell off to the side, I can enter a day of the month (or year, if Julian is an option) , and have a formula that is pasted in to every cell that takes that 'seed' and determines if I am 'on' or 'off' that day. I could probably butcher it with a huge list of if/then based on modulus of 1-15, but looking for the elegant solution. Just can't get my head wrapped around it.
I am just looking for help on the formula in the cell that uses the seed date to determine work schedule. I think that getting that part down, the logic can be mod'ed to fit my other objectives (which I should be able to do on my own). This would include pay periods (start every 14 days, on Saturday), and assigned equipment (alternate every week, X week 1, Y week 2, repeat).

Help would be appreciated. This is a personal project, not class homework. My intention is to eventually port the project to PHP/Apache/SQL on Linux. Once I get the basic logic down, that should be fairly trivial to port it over, which I can google/do on my own.

Thanks in advance for any comments/suggestions/help.

[EDIT] Libre Office Calc (front end, Base back end in the future maybe), running on Win10 with an eventual move to a Linux OS on my laptop.
Where I can download Libre Office version 5? In version 6 I can't customize and define new color pallete the way I could in 5.
So I have a CSV with financial data. The money column are imported as text, e.g. $497.46. Is there any way I can import or convert that to currency or a number without standing on my head? If I strip the $ I'm left with 497.46, why can't I just format that as currency or numeric.
If I strip out the $ - simple to do - I can't convert that column to currency OR a number since it insists on inserting a ' making it a text format. I've googled this issue, found a lot of posts, but none of the suggestions work. I don't get it, I really don't.
IMO this should not be this hard. I didn't create this - csv they're exports from other sites, so I don't have a choice in how I get that data.
Edit: OK I found one workaround. Once I strip the $, I can save the file, then open it again and it then recognizes the number. IMO I don't think I should have to do that.
Hi. In Calc Spreadsheet i.e. the one that's like Excel:
When I format cells with leading zeros, it doesn't work on cells that have a =HEX2BIN() or =DEC2HEX() formula. How can I make these cells have leading zeroes? Because reading hex and binary without them is confusing.
And if possible, can I put a space in the middle of binary byte values?
I am working on Linux Mint 18.2 64-bit, Linux kernel 4.13. On downloading LibreOffice 6.1 and opening the .deb packages through gdebi package manager, it shows "error: dependency is not satisfiable: libobasis6.1-core (>=6.1.0.3)"
Similar error is also happening when I am trying to install LibreOffice 6.0.
Any clues on what might be the issue and how to solve it?
I had LibreOffice 5 installed previously which I had uninstalled before attempting the fresh installation.
