    I'm trying to find an elegant solution to the problem of iterating through a named vector/list, & applying a func which uses both the name & value. Can anyone improve on this? > purrr::map2(myvec, names(myvec), ~paste(.y, "=", .x)) Other examples:

    Great tip I learned today on package 📦documentation: if your package uses the same parameters for multiple functions, instead of typing them repeatedly, you can use the '' roxygen tag, as described here:

    When submitting a PR, it's not a very smart idea to create an almost identically named branch to yr new one in order to test out a problem; you'll likely forget you've done this & spend a long time wondering why the code you've just pushed is not the same as the GitHub repo 😂

    If you're producing materials designed to teach somebody how to do something, how do you account for the different levels of prior knowledge of your audience give you can't explain everything (e.g. I won't tell you how to write an R function in a guide for developing R packages)?

    Same here - I first learned statistics in SPSS and had a v poor understanding of underlying concepts - I only learned which menu to click on & which bit of output was relevant. As soon as I started doing the same analyses in R, everything started clicking into place a LOT faster.

    Having done both I agree with this.

    Any chance I can get a volunteer who either a) can use RStudio & its git functionality but has never made a pull request on GitHub before & is interested in learning or b) is v good at proofreading instructions [or c) both!], to help me roadtest a potentially useful thing I made?
