    In my career as an academic biostatistician I found two types of researchers - those who saw me as a technician to merely supply a P value, and those who saw me as a scientist with contributions. The latter were the better researchers.

    For biomedical science to advance, we need real collaborations between clinicians and statisticians, as well as other data scientists. Not a directing of work but a sharing of ideas, planning, methods and results.
