    A great first day back today... spotting + discussing our core values and beliefs. We examined and discussed feedback as part of our PDP obs before a great KLA meeting celebrating and evaluating our success in term 1 with resources. A great day. 🤩

    I finished school with average grades and no direction. I enrolled in TAFE and next year will be awarded my PhD. My high school showed me hope, TAFE showed me how to get there. -

    No scientist ever developed a new theory or made a new discovery by completing a worksheet

    Spending Saturday soldering wires on to solar panels for Year Four science and technology learning. Can’t help but think “couldn’t we just use a worksheet?” Quick and easy but not much learning. 40 more.

    Yet more schools today talking about the ‘phenomenal’ impact of 1-1 5-10 minute conferences with children every 3 weeks focusing on a piece of writing from the week. This replaces post lesson marking. People want to know how to organise this-how are you making this work?

    I was a part timer and was expected to attend events even if they did not happen on days I worked. As a primary school support teacher I had to get a babysitter for my kids to go in on my non work day to babysit the students whose parents were attending a Meet the Teacher event.
