  1. I should add: Terrorism is loud, ugly, messy, and gets wide condemnation; institutional tyranny is often invisible, slick, and "clean".

  2. Institutional tyranny is in a way worse than terrorism: It has more victims, has a longer life, and often gets international legitimacy.

  3. no sleep, no toilet, no water, extreme low temperature, long standing, beating, sexual harassment, stripped naked. You are still my hero!

  18. The 1000's of political prisoners in are infact the most proud & free among us, they refused to live as silent subjects

  23. I ripped the pic of Hamad cuz he represents oppression in my country. Hamad is a dictator, a killer, a torturer & a criminal

  24. We are not backing down, not if u arrest my father, torture my husband, sentence my sis or put me & my baby in a prison cell fr yrs

  25. We are calling for freedom & dignity for our people, & nothing the government does will make us back down

  26. This path does not make us victims, its a path of strength thru sacrifice, & we are willing to sacrifice everything for our ideals

  27. Me & my family have been ready for this & expecting it. Its not easy to be ripped apart from those u love but we have chosen a path

  28. I am now sentenced to a total of 4 yrs & 4 months, we dont know when they'll come to arrest me, it cud be tonight or in a few days

  29. As I tweet I look over & see my husband holding our tiny baby & staring at him. I know hez thinking how little he'll get to see him

  30. She looked at me for awhile, then looked at her baby brother & said "I want to come to prison with you"

  31. When we got home, as me & my daughter gave baby Hadi a bath, I told her calmly that me & Hadi will be going to prison sometime soon

  32. I wanted my son to see the ocean, to breath the fresh air, & I realized today might be his last chance to do so

  33. I always thot thats the opposite of a prison cell, to c the endlessness of the ocean & the sky, instead of the walls & prison bars

  34. I thought abt the 3 cases I'm to be sentenced in 2day, I changed my 12 day old baby & decided we were going to the beach

  35. as my daughter left the room my husband said "we memorized the national anthem during the torture sessions when we were @ Dry Dock"

  36. On the other side of the leaflet was the national anthem, which starts with "Our , our king" my husband looked at it with a smile

  37. She had tons of questions, the most important being "Why do we have to salute Hamad at school if he is not a nice person?"

  38. Today my 5 yr old daughter came home from school with this leaflet.. it reads "we are all Hamad"

  43. 2day on d same day of my release I hear tht d health of pol prisoners on in solidarity w my father is deteriorating

  46. If the international community cud secure my release tht gives me hope that we can do the same 4 d thousands of political prisoners

  47. Before leaving prison, I informed them that I will continue my human rights work.

  48. Despite the release, I am banned from traveling and the charges have not been dropped. First hearing will b on October 1st
