    This isn’t the worst outcome. A worse outcome would’ve been Democrats giving Trump some bipartisan cover. But they’ve admirably stood together in defense of the JCPOA. So Trump and the GOP own this disaster.

    Lastly, if Trump thinks Iran's leaders will be eager to negotiate over the ashes of the JCPOA, he is gravely mistaken. The JCPOA was perceived as a test to see if the US could be trusted - the answer is now delivered.

    The notion that we could have had a better deal, but for some reason did not get one under Obama, is an outright lie. If anything, Iran was the one that got played and never got any real relief.
