    The problem with deep learning models like this is you lose interpretability. Like, once we have our prediction, we can’t really work backwards. That seemingly magic “1.0” factor...what does that actually *mean*?

    Hey guys here is my infallible model for predicting ROY. I take minutes and then...this is the crucial step (I think it's rather clever)...I multiply that value by 1.0. And then the player that has the highest 1.0*Minutes Played value is the ROY. I can explain in more detail too.

    The high order bit of late-fusion techniques performing better than linear models etc. is interesting, but forgive me if I’m skeptical. This is either predicting a MASSIVE signal — I don’t know enough about the bipolar population to say — or *painfully* overfit. H/T

    A neural network can detect depression and mania in bipolar subjects by analyzing how they hold and tap on their smartphones.

    Random question: Is there a website -- does exist? -- that will tell me if the goalposts have moved regarding certain pieces of pop culture? Sometimes it's obvious, but it isn't always, and I only have the one frame of reference, so c.f. Black Snake Moan
