If that’s not the best day of this dudes life, this guy has way too much going for him.

If this is the best day of this dudes life, well, he probably still has way too much going for him.

It's weird to think that the slip and slide was the most exhilarating part of the skydive for that guy.

Well, that route was fine on the way to pick up the house..

Bro, what about the spider part? THE FUCKING SPIDER PART. The way those tiny spiders could crawl up on Harry and stick to him like glue had me jumping so many times. Not to mention turning the corner and seeing one of these FUCKERS slowly going towards you. That entire Spider Forest section took me days to finish because I was so fucking scared. Seriously, both fuck you and I love you developers.

Fly board? I thought we unanimously agreed to call them hover boards like at least 50 years ago

I'm genuinely wondering how safe that is.

It looks amazing nevertheless.

I can see people dressed as the Green Goblin using this.

However if you could get an authenticated token from that there was probably a way to "log in with Facebook" on other apps.

Yeah, I agree. Very disturbing. Not just Facebook then but your linked accounts that you can login with Facebook for. Worse than just a data dump or a hack that grabbed your SSN and last 4 digits of your credit card, this is everything in its raw form. Your direct messages, private images, linked accounts, etc. You could build up so much information about a person.

I feel mentally lighter since I stopped drinking. I haven't done anything I regret all year. I've made the most money and spent the least. I'm starting to get into a working out routine which I've stuggled with for 3-4 years. I don't swing emotionally. I don't feel guilty about being hungover and not getting my work done.

y whole life is different. I was in a pretty shitty place before I started farming. I was living a consumption lifestyle with shallow friends. I was partying and drinking a lot. The drinking really started to get away from me at one point after I had first started my farm. I really had to ask myself if my actions were going to let me be successful. It was a hard reality to face. I was so fucking lonely because I was working by myself so much and I stopped hanging out with my friends who only wanted to drink/party/do drugs. It sucked. Now I'm totally the opposite of that guy. I try not to take my self worth out of material things, I eat healthy, I decided to try not drinking for 2018 to see how that was and I haven't had a drop since New Years. I eat most of my own food that I grow, I've made new friends who are living healthier lifestyles. It's been a wild ride so far.

Oh yeah, I remember looking through my University's old yearbooks and they'd have 3-5 people dying every year from all kinds of random things (I went to a small <2000 school). It was totally normal even as recently as the 60s and 70s. Nowadays when someone dies it is a much bigger deal because it's so infrequent.

Also is also a very convenient distraction from the fact reported this week that Facebook was using information you give them for security purposes to advertise. No matter how you slice it if a customer gives you information for security purposes it shouldnt be used to link for the puposes of advertising

Make special note of the word “link” for the astroturfer responses which will probably ignore it in their responses

The sheer amount of information gathered by these social media sites is staggeringly terrifying. Most people don’t realize the power and capabilities of these corporations.

These sites are effectively logging every single moment of everyone’s life. They’re not social media, they’re privately owned surveillance operations. At this point, I don’t think anyone argues this fact. What they do argue, however, is what can be done with the information gathered.

Without sounding like some rambling conspiracy theorist, I will say this: there are reasons why Facebook, Twitter, and Google are undergoing serious governmental oversights and investigations, and it’s not because they are being unkind. They are used to sway public opinion using censorship, sheer falsifications, and the overwhelming capability to physically alter governmental decisions by using information gathered by their ‘services’ as compromising information.

Do your homework. The world isn’t how they’ve told you how it is, it’s how you find out for yourself it is.

One of my favourite TV goofs ever, I'm not even a footy fan. When I want to feign ignorance with my GF, I'll say 'I dunno Jeff'..

This doesn't limit where you can move, but there are rules about where you can vote/run for office based upon your residency and the timings relative to elections. If you move between the registration cut-off date and election day, you are still entitled to move to a new place and vote in your old one. But the reason for registering locally is so that it is easier for local districts to manage their ballots, voter registries and candidates and so on. Even though all states vote on the same day in the general election, each district has its own ballot due to local initiatives and referendums and the various timings of which representatives are up for election. Because of this high variability in regulations between states/districts, it makes sense to not nationalize everything.

Which is ridiculous when considering the whole plot of the book revolves around a guy in the highest echelon of society being discontent with his position and role before eventually being carted off to an Arctic hideaway with other woke Alphas, presumably to continue all the fucking and tripping he was already doing anyway. Even the briefest exposure to something outside the norm for the woman that completely buys into the system is enough to send her into an existential tailspin.

1960's people : In the future the government will force us to wear devices to monitor us constantly.

Today: People enthusiastically pay money to buy these devices.
