Germany decided not to buy F-35, mainly because of the Franco-German future combat system (FCAS) (and French lobbying). Now Spain has joined FCAS - but still considers buying F-35. Will be interesting to see how this develops.

I wouldn't make the patriotism argument, but I worry about tech companies not wanting to work with the military.
Not because I want them to, but because it suggests tech companies don't want to (and thus won't) think about poss military uses of their tech.
