That's another Straw Man. ID Cards during war aren't the same as during peace, and if you knew the history, that argument failed in court which is why the original UK ID Card was abolished after the war. You don't know your own history, and this is the problem with Britain today.

This is a Straw Man. Locking doors prevents criminals, ID in Banks helps you keep strangers from your financial information. None of these things is like issuing a National ID card to remove illegal immigrants. A card can't do that, I'm afraid.

This is not true. The problem is illegal aliens in the UK, the answer to the problem is removing them. You say if they are discovered, they should be removed, "If needed". How anyone can think this is baffling. Illegal aliens must be removed, every time, or the law means nothing.

I sent you to a link that contained the shott text of a famous email that killed the first attempt at re-introducing ID Cards to the UK. It was in the Evening Standard and Guardian. As for Twitter and FB, those are voluntary. ID Cards are compulsory, and need to be, to "work".

The only way ID Cards work is if everyone is enrolled; it's the only way to distinguish between people. If you're not in the database, you are illegal. Period. And the problem is 1m illegal people in the UK, not who they are. ID Cards won't remove a single one of them.
