Donate to Freedom of the Press Foundation

Freedom of the Press Foundation is dedicated to helping support and defend public-interest journalism. We raise funds for a variety of organizations that push for transparency and accountability, and work to preserve and strengthen the rights guaranteed to the press under the First Amendment.

We urge you to donate to our campaigns for these other organizations first and foremost, but if you can spare it afterwards, then we could also use your support.

If you donate to us directly it will help us cover operational expenses, expand and hire new staff, while also managing the SecureDrop project, and encouraging greater use of encryption and security practices by journalists, sources and news organizations. Most importantly, contributions allow us to continue fostering transparency and press freedoms in a digital age.

The payment processor will deduct a fee from your payment before we receive it. Fees range between 2% and 5% depending on many factors.
