Pleaaaaaaaase - fixing this bug will definetely seriously increase amount of lBusinesses that will want this service.
Oct 25, 2015
Multi-floor is an important option for many businesses, but the random starting point is a real problem which means I do not recommend this option if at all possible. Please address this issue. It has been a problem for a long time.
Oct 25, 2015
Yeah when you press see inside, it chooses a random floor. And when you change floor it's a random pano. Huge problem for the businesses.
Oct 25, 2015
Please fix this so we can know and select which floor will show up correctly. It makes it difficult to offer multi level to a client when it is unreliable. For the client, often there is a level that is more important than another level, and often the less important level shows up and then can't get to the next level. It makes it much less effective as a tool for a business. Businesses don't want to pay for the wrong floor showing up first and I don't recommend it anymore because of it. This is an example where the basement always seems to show up over the main floor. The problem exists on both desktop and mobile where most often the basement thumbnail shows up first. https://goo.gl/maps/sChMF3JNt1A2
Oct 25, 2015
Important bug fix. Selection of correct thumbnail to start in multi floor tour is a must. Also multi floor buttons in iOS platform too. After publish extra links are being added automatically causing wrong connection between arrows, passing through walls or going to other floors directly. Google staff please priorize the correction of this bug. Thank you.
Oct 25, 2015
The starting and display pano should be the one attached to the Outside view

This is a long time problem that needs to be fixed!

I think you've found the wrong issue tracker for the issue you are reporting. This is the Maps API issue tracker and I think you're reporting an issue to do with Street View tours. If I'm incorrect, can you please reply back with some example code illustrating the problem you're having. If you're having an issue with Google Maps the consumer-facing product, then this article should help direct your feedback: https://support.google.com/maps/answer/3094045?hl=en

thanks for the fast reply. Yes, this is true, this is an issue with Street View Trusted Tours which is a known open bug since more than a year. I decided to go this way because there must be a documented way to sort such things out. The product(Street View trusted) isn't consumer facing, it's 100% business related and it would be great if we find a way to work on bugs in a professionell way. It would be great if we find a place here to work together with the Google devs to make the Google Street View trusted product better. I copied this text from a comment in this Thread which was posted by a helpful Photographer some hours ago: This is an example where the basement always seems to show up over the main floor. The problem exists on both desktop and mobile where most often the basement thumbnail shows up first. https://goo.gl/maps/sChMF3JNt1A2 There are other examples out there but it makes no sense to show to much broken tours public... If you want more examples we can deliver per mail, pls. send message to: [email protected] From my point of view the bug is related to the Multifloor system. There must be a ability to assign a start panorama for the specific level. There are also a start Pano for the whole tour which are called inside Panorama and outside Panorama... the Pano editor system needs an additional field per level to show the start panorama of the floor. Then we have x Start Panos for every additional Floor and 2 start Panoramas for the whole tour...
Oct 26, 2015
@google we are using the Google JavaScript Api and want to set the starting point of a Street View trusted tour... but there is no way to get this done in a correct way. What we also miss is the ability to set a starting panorama on every floor... @support google.com If this bug report is in the wrong category please change it to the correct category

Setting the status of this case to: "invalid" doesn't solve the problem for the community of over 5.000 Google trusted Photographers. It would be very nice if someone has the neck to work on this topic instead of dragging it under the table for over 1 Year... PEACE:)
Nov 5, 2015
I'm glad that Google can just mark Invalid and solve this problem. Great.
Nov 5, 2015
Please get this fixed. If you think it is invalid, just ask all of us why? This is making my business look amateur. I have clients moaning about this and i have no answer except blame Google. But they cannot believe Google would leave it like this. But you clearly have.

Please FIX this bug!
Nov 6, 2015
This fix is long overdue. Come on Google get this corrected and make my day.
Nov 6, 2015
This is going on over two years. It is embarrassing and upsetting our/Google customers. To get around this we have to use a third party skin.
Nov 6, 2015
I echo the comments of Frank. This is going on over two years. It is embarrassing and upsetting our/Google customers. To get around this we have to use a third party skin.
Nov 6, 2015
I do not even offer it, I don't mention it and I walk away from businesses that could use it, because I refuse to make broken promises.

#20 Nobody likes paying for something that doesn't work. A multi story tour that I cannot guarantee will start on the first floor or a specific floor is of no value to me or to my clients. This bug has destroyed client confidence in me and has resulted in my refusal to attempt sales to multi-story businesses. Control of this feature is essential. [email protected] Example Tour: https://goo.gl/AXfDH8 Simply compare the 2nd floor starting point of this tour with any point on the first floor. Would you want this view to represent the best you have to offer? Example 2: https://goo.gl/PYEYVI Same issue.....and I could give you more.
Nov 6, 2015
Long past time to fix this bug. Feature is unusable.
Nov 6, 2015
Please address this issue. Many thanks
Nov 6, 2015
Please forward this thread to the right team that can add some control to how tours are displayed.
Nov 6, 2015
Please fix this problem. Whether this is posted in the correct location or not it is still a Google issue and needs to be addresses and corrected so the end user will have an enjoyable experience using this Google product.
Nov 6, 2015
Please fix this issue.......it has been going on for a long time.....
Nov 6, 2015
I agree with the others, and feel it's a terrible disservice to the Google client that think we are connected when we can't make a tour start where we designate. In some cases we've went back to before multi -floor option just to be sure of the start points. Listen to the TIPs they know what they are talking about. TIA
Nov 6, 2015
Pls fix this - its a massive drawback to buisnesses
Nov 7, 2015
This is a long time problem and i think a lot of TIPS (working to make GOOGLE a better place/service) would really appreciate if You could fix it!
Nov 7, 2015
this needs to be fixed, why anyone would want something random ...
Nov 7, 2015
Please fix this issue. Thank you.
Nov 7, 2015
Please fix this asap. Most TIPS and some clients would be very grateful if you do and we can offer this feature again.
Nov 7, 2015
Olease fix it!!!!
Nov 8, 2015
Embarrassing because a random start point on a multi floor tour makes no sense.
Nov 8, 2015
This is an issue that is very annoying because as a Google Street View | Trusted photographer I can't be sure that the client is getting what is promised - a good looking representation of the business on Street View -- yet it seems there must be an easy solution to it. Please get this problem resolved.
Nov 8, 2015
Please help us fix this problem or send this info to the correct issue tracker for Street View Business so the right team in Google can solve this. This is very important for our clients (which are yours too). Thanks.
Nov 9, 2015
Please fix this......... 2 Years is TOO long.
Nov 9, 2015
i have just done 7 tours and everyone of mine are wrong, they start inside and the panos are numbered wrong, i have no idea how to fix it.
Nov 10, 2015
I have at least 3 businesses now that need fixing with this issue. Please address ASAP!
Nov 10, 2015
PLEASE FIX IT !!!
Nov 10, 2015
Please Fix The Issue!
Nov 10, 2015
Please fix this issue many cases have been filed with nothing ever getting fixed. This is an embarrassment. http://maps.google.com/maps/place?cid=14299954783748502103 tour starts on the top floor in a meeting room. [email protected]
Nov 16, 2015
Can't believe that this hasn't been fixed yet - it's making us all look stupid
Nov 16, 2015
I love how this issue has been marked invalid since Oct 25 but the lemmings continue to post.
Nov 16, 2015
That's very helpful Mark G, be a good boy and do something useful now.
Nov 16, 2015
Update: Thanks for all Users helping to get this bug on a level which shows Google real interest in fixing it... I have different discussions with Google devs and actually I can say that there will be a solution on the way but it all needs some time... we are now at constructive bug fixing day 20 after 2 years of waiting... It is not the only GSVT bug I'am working on and you can be sure I give my best! Thanks again :) @Mark G I don't know why you are jumping in here and I don't want to start a discussion with you... but it will be helpful if you leave constructive comments and not such a sh...

Along with many others, I have held off utilizing multi floor becasue of this issue. When fixed it opens a whole now world for all of us! Thank you, Curt
Nov 16, 2015
appreciate your efforts in fixing this issue!!!!!
Nov 16, 2015
I held back on promoting to multi-floor businesses, either resorting to stairs approach or advising businesses that its unreliable and better to just show one floor until fixed. Appreciate your efforts in resolving this. Thank you.
Nov 16, 2015
Fix it please
Nov 17, 2015
Appreciate your efforts in fixing this issue !!!!
Nov 17, 2015
Frank and others -- What gives you hope that anyone on the Google team is paying any attention to this since it has been marked as "invalid"? Maybe we need to start a new bug report pointing out that this IS the place to report Street View bugs (https://code.google.com/p/gmaps-api-issues/)
Nov 17, 2015
Please fix it!
Nov 17, 2015
Dev on this is appreciated by many, TY.
Nov 17, 2015
I have had many interested businesses opt out of doing a tour due to this bug. Being unable to choose the first imagery a potential customer views is seen as a liability. Case in point, I just shot a multi level that sells hot tubs on floor 1 and gym equipment on floor 2. They want floor one as the main pano because hot tubs are their main money maker, gym equipment is a supplementary skew. Tour is published and floor 2 is randomly selected as the main pano. Hot Tubs is in the name of the business yet the first image seen is of the second floor gym equipment. Pls fix this.
Nov 24, 2015
Please fix this issue! This has been a problem for so long time and caused a lot of problem in customer relations. Please ad an option to choose which level to bee visible in search and maps as the starting point. In the same time please adress the problem with levels shown upp in the wrong order. This is a problem when it comes to business that have a celler. If a business for exemple name there levels -1, E, 1 and 2 it will shown in wrong order in the map interface, se attached file. It would bee great to have an option to name the levels right and have control over the order they are shown in maps. Thank you!

Starting a prayer chain. This needs to be fixed and, apparently, Google needs all the help it can get. Why a tour would post properly (a fluke) then revert to the second floor and a bad thumbnail after 2 weeks is beyond me. And NO WAY to access the first floor from a mobile device? Argh! However, we generally stand in AWE & RESPECT for all you are and do for us, Google. No hard feelings, but I am praying!!
Dec 2, 2015
Thanks for all of your interest in the Street View product everyone. An enterprise support engineer has contacted me to inform me that they have been working with someone through the enterprise support channels and wanted me to pass on the message that the issue has been reported and is being worked on. If you want to stay updated on this issue you should head over to the Google Maps Product Forums: https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!forum/maps
Dec 2, 2015
@Google I'am in contact with the enterprise support and send a bug report to them and started at the same time this Issue here because this is a place we can show Google that there is interest.... We are waiting since 2 Years that this bug(missed/wrong functions in MultiFloor) will be solved... The link you provided goes in the Maps Forum? Where can I find the Bug fixing thread of this case? https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!forum/maps Why not open a case here? Maybe we can use another topic but for bug fixing this is far more better then a open forum without any straight communication in fixing problems... Thanks Regards Frank
Jan 2, 2016
Info: Maybe as a result of the permanent "pressure" Google changed the multifloor option and we can now have a start Pano per floor. I can check this option with a big multifloor tour in the next days. Would be great if we all keep an eye on the new multifloor features and do some testing what happens after publishing a multifloor tour... Thanks to all for helping to bring this to Google attention and thanks to Google devs if they worked on it.... lets see what happens
Jan 2, 2016
That's the reason why many of us mount different floors in the same level, to avoid the use of the MF feature. This mean to have point pass to another point often trought different floor. PLEASE FIX THIS PROBLEM
Jan 8, 2016
Multi plan suffers from too many bugs in 2012 , three years lost to view on the mobile . Not to mention the multi area hotels disastrous . Give us the opportunity to place hotspots on the map png
Jan 8, 2016
Please fix!!
Jan 9, 2016
Please fix it finally!!!! :-(
Jan 11, 2016
Fix please!!!
Jan 13, 2016
Having problems with the search engine displaying a 'see inside' for the lobby on the 0 floor rather than the main offices on the 4th floor. This prevents the user's main business being show in the street view app and in Google Cardboard! It is essential that you fix this ASAP!!
Jan 13, 2016
And it happened to me. Shot a bed and breakfast multi-level but still connected all rooms and levels so no matter where Google randomly chose to start the tour you could still get anywhere except.... for one spin that couldn't be connected. Where does Google start the tour? In that one unconnected spin locking users out of the real tour. Result: the opposite of a good user experience and a client really pissed at Google. Why? In my experience this would take at most a day's effort to fix. It really isn't that hard. So why keep presenting a look of incompetence to the user?
Jan 15, 2016
Please fix
Jan 25, 2016
It is nothing short of disrespectful to create a program and enlist hundreds if not thousands of photographers to sell a product to trusting businesses owners then deliver a tour that does not work properly and dismiss the issue as unimportant. Please wake up and fix the issue of multi level tours not functioning in the they were intended.
Jan 25, 2016
In case you forgot: https://www.google.com/mobile/?hl=en
Jan 25, 2016
Surely this can be fixed quite easily? We're not asking Google to rewrite the entire moderators GUI. Besides this is Google we're talking about! How have such a big company who demand a lot from their photographers, continue to ignore this and many other issues.
Jan 27, 2016
I need a fix for this, a very bad problem
Jan 28, 2016
Please sort this!
Feb 11, 2016
I see it as well, that this error should be corrected at last! to tell customers this error is incredibly cumbersome and does not promote the product, or project Street View.
Feb 11, 2016
Yes, please. It's not a free service where wysiwyg and failure can be accepted. It's a paid service for businesses with us photographers at front. It's our (and not at least Google's) reputation which is undermined. Google's first intention should always be functionality and reliability. Great stuff you're doing, but please: DO IT RIGHT.
Feb 15, 2016
This should be fixed ASAP. Tnx.
Feb 27, 2016
Just submitted 2 multi-level tours and yes, the bug is there. Trashes the user experience, paying clients not happy.

Feb 29, 2016
Development on this is appreciated by many, especially our (and Your) clients. thanks in advance for finally fixing this issue...
Feb 29, 2016
Great to see this bug is being fixed. I agree the fix will be appreciated by ours (and Google's) customers. This includes smaller businesses through to larger international brands that are currently affected.
Mar 1, 2016
Apart from the bug itself, the see inside thumbnails sometimes get randomly selected. The customers would ask why does my knowledge graph show a 7th floor, when the entrance is on the ground level, and that's what should be showing as first. Plus in the hotel mode, the carousel would mix the islands with photos, and some islands will never be seen in such a way. It should be a priority for the carousel to show all Street View content first, because if the user clicks on "See inside" that's what he wants to see, isn't it? If the user clicks Show Photos - show him photos, if he wants "See inside" let him see inside not only the 3 panorama constellation from the reception in hotel mode... It should be grouped.

Please fix it !
Apr 24, 2016
Please fix it !!!!!!!
Apr 24, 2016
This has been by far the most complained about issue with my clients. If anything all day Google needs to do his default it to the ground floor but inevitably it always goes to some random floor that is never ideal. With all the coding geniuses on stuff it seems unimaginable that there cannot be a quick remedy to this. Please make our lives a little bit simpler and increase the quality of this product by fixing this issue that is been going on for years.

Apr 25, 2016
Please fix ASAP! Incredibly frustrating!
Apr 25, 2016
All of the above!!!!!!
Apr 26, 2016
This would be very useful as it's a major hurdle with businesses using multi floor and losing their prime seeinside spot. A simple default check box on the floor we'd like to use is all it would need.
Apr 29, 2016
Please create a fix for this. Thank you very much!
May 11, 2016
cannot emphasise enough how important a fix to this is
May 12, 2016

May 24, 2016
Please fix. It can't be rocket science.

Has anyone ever been able to get Google to fix it for them after the fact manually? Or are you on your own? Just had the same issue with a two story fitness center choosing the second (less popular) floor as the starting point. I contacted a Google rep assuming it was just a random glitch they could override, but haven't heard back. Now I see all these comments and my stomach dropped knowing I may have to tell my clients "it is what it is." |
