Thank you for filing the issue. Can you please give some information on what you want to build using it.

I have 3 use cases for this. 1) Hide a custom InfoWindow that was displayed when the user clicked elsewhere on the map. Without this I end up with 2 InfoWindows displayed, one for the previous click, and one for the POI, and often the previous click overlays the POI. This can be seen in the demo https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/examples/place-details by clicking the marker, then clicking "The Star" below the marker. 2) I want to show a marker and record the location the user clicked on. Similar to the marker that is displayed in the main Google Maps when clicking a location. 3) A custom right click context menu. An alternative would be an example on the developers site that disables the POIs and replaces them with same information using something like the places API. I like how on the main Google Maps the point of interest like shops act like hyperlinks with a hover effect and react to what you're viewing (e.g. if I click on a POI it changes to show other related POIs near the clicked item) and would like to have this same level of support (including right clicking and displaying a custom menu for the point).

Issue 8113 has been merged into this issue.

Do we have any timeline for this? This issue together with 8113 have been around for almost a year. It will be very great if this can be implemented as soon as possible. Thanks, Henry |
