    Like, I guess they HAD to do the debate, but "Trump tweeting at 3:20 a.m." maybe a more fruitful/weird topic. Next week, maybe!

    I totally agree. Felt like a recap of the debate, when I was hoping for a skit that eviscerated the whole campaign season.

    I do agree anyone imitating Trump has a tough challenge competing w reality--maybe why the Feud sketch, focusing on surrogates, was sharp.

    I don't think her Hillary is a dead-on mimetic impression but it doesn't matter because she has a clear concept of the character.

    I feel like Kate has done that with Hillary.

    Maybe it's impossible, but what can I say? Nobody laughs on a curve. I do think he's so target-rich you prob need to pick an angle & focus.

    How do you have an "idea" of Trump that's funnier/weirder/more memorable than his actual shtick?

    Anyway, not bashing Baldwin, who I liked as Trump. I just don't think that "looked / sounded like him" is the most important measure.

    One of the best SNL presidents, Chase's Ford, sounded nothing like him, but had an *idea* of him. Ferrell had a specific idea of Bush, &c.

    The eternal issue w SNL is accurate impressions vs creating a character. Latter is more impt, though some manage both (like Fey's Palin).

    It was a v good impression--Baldwin's great w impressions. Didn't think it was written with any distinctive take on the character.

    thought Baldwin did an excellent Trump. Wasn't sure why they moved off Hammond but Baldwin was very good
