SELENIS LEYVA CAST IN ‘SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING!
The ‘Orange is the New Black’ actress was spotted on set with other members of the cast during filming.
EDIT - Based on her clothing and the scene being filmed on a set that looked like a school, it’s speculated she will be playing a teacher but that is not 100% confirmed.
Female Awesome Meme - [3/5] lgbt+ ladies: Poussey Washington. “[Love] is just chilling, you know? Kicking it with somebody, talking, making mad stupid jokes. And, like, not even wanting to go to sleep, ‘cause then you might be without 'em for a minute. And you don’t want that.”
WHY TUMBLR? WHY YOU DOING THIS TO MEEEEEEEEEEE
i fixed everything, you’re welcome
You really want a picture out there that looks like you about to beat down Judy King?
↘ MEME: Instead of mourning your death I’d rather celebrate your life Characters who deserved so much better: → Poussey Washington from Orange is the New Black
“Look, maybe… this challenges what you thought you were. And… maybe I’m gonna get my heart broken in a thousand different pieces. But those are maybes. You can’t live your life accordin’ to maybes.”
OITNB is life.
I had to doodle some of my favorite ladies..
*oitnb spoilers*
for me, episode 12 wasn’t about ‘social commentary’ or ‘character progression’, it was about making people see what is happening, making people feel upset, anxious and angry because too many people aren’t, having her killed isn’t ridiculous and counterproductive; it’s made more people think about BLM, and it’s affected them in the way it should; police brutality is vile, disgusting and people should stop pussyfooting around it. the thing i don’t agree with was the victimising and sympathising of Bailey’s actions..but I’m pretty sure that’s what would happen in reality, which makes it more horrific. For the record, I’m LGBT and black.
“Just in case you forgot why Black Cindy said “Black People can be racist” on #OITNB. Here’s a pic of the writers.”
As seen on Zellielmani’s Facebook page
I don’t watch this show - not a big TV drama watcher - but I have been following the recent conversation about the death of a black character (who I won’t name, no spoilers) at the hands of a white prison officer (same).
The way they handled that storyline - as an “accidental” death - is majorly problematic when in the same week we see the Freddie Gray trial where he was killed by “rough ride.”
SYSTEMIC RACISM AND VIOLENCE AGAINST BLACK PEOPLE IN AMERICA IS THE OPPOSITE OF AN ACCIDENT.
Racist killer cops are being found innocent by juries because of narratives like this, that cops are just trying to do their job and sometimes “people” get hurt.
OITNB, WTF?
Get some black writers on your staff YESTERDAY, and nobody should have to be telling you that! A major component of your show is the prison experience in America, where black people are disproportionately represented - represent them in your writers room!
