Falcons interviewed Jets interim HC Jeff Ulbrich for their defensive coordinator vacancy.

The Jets completed an interview with Ulbrich for their head coaching vacancy earlier this week. After going 3-9 as the team’s interim head coach following Robert Saleh’s firing, Ulbrich is unlikely to stick in New York next season. A defensive coordinator gig would be a good landing spot for Ullbrich, who has held that title for roughly five years in total. His first coordinator job came with the Falcons in 2020 when he took over the role midseason. New York hired him the next offseason.
Isiah Pacheco

KC Running Back #10

Isiah Pacheco (ribs) is practicing in full for the Divisional Round against the Texans.

Pacheco suffered a rib injury in Week 17. He missed the Chiefs’ regular season closer, though the game had no playoff implications for Kansas City and Pacheco was far from the only starter to get the week off. After opening the week with a pair of full practices, Pacheco should be cleared on Thursday’s injury report. He will continue to split the backfield with Kareem Hunt versus Houston.
Dalton Schultz

HOU Tight End #86

Dalton Schultz (shoulder) was limited in Wednesday’s practice.

The touchdown-dependent tight end is on track to play, having practiced in a limited capacity twice now. While Schultz is not a big-time difference maker, the Texans would undoubtedly prefer to have their starting tight end in the lineup for a potential shootout against the Chiefs.
Joe Mixon

HOU Running Back #28

Joe Mixon (ankle) was limited in Wednesday’s practice.

Details on the injury have not yet been released but this is a story to follow closely. Popping up on the injury report with a mid-week Limited Participant status suggests Mixon suffered this injury in Wednesday’s practice. He notably missed Weeks 3-5 due to an ankle injury but whether this can be considered an aggravation remains unknown. Mixon will likely play through the pain but would be at risk for an in-game setback.
Diontae Johnson

FA Wide Receiver #82

Ravens claimed WR Diontae Johnson off of waivers from the Texans.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter carefully broke down what is ultimately a brilliant “procedural move” by the Ravens. Johnson is not eligible to play in this post-season and will not be “awarded” to the Ravens until after the Super Bowl. Schefter notes Johnson “qualifies as an unrestricted free agent this offseason and, if he signs with another team, he factors into Baltimore’s compensatory pick formula, potentially helping it obtain an additional draft pick in 2026.” Schefter adds that Johnson “likely won’t step foot back into the Ravens’ facility. But he now can help Baltimore in the off-season.”
Zach Ertz

WAS Tight End #86

Zach Ertz (ribs) was limited in Wednesday’s practice.

Ertz was held out of Tuesday’s session. A limited practice puts him on track to play on Saturday, though tomorrow’s injury report will be more telling. If Ertz can’t go, John Bates and Ben Sinnott will both see an uptick in snaps versus the Lions. Assuming he plays, Ertz, who has operated as the Commanders’ No. 2 pass-catcher for most of the year, will be a strong fantasy option in the Divisional Round slate.
Taylor Decker

DET Tackle #68

Lions LT Taylor Decker (personal) did not practice on Wednesday.

This could end up being a non-issue but a playoff practice absence for a core offensive player is noteworthy nonetheless. Decker is one of the league’s best left tackles and he makes life far easier on Jared Goff. Hopefully, Decker is good to go this week. We will report back with updates as soon as possible.
David Montgomery

DET Running Back #5

David Montgomery (knee) practiced in full on Wednesday.

Montgomery’s continued participation suggests he remains setback-free. He told reporters earlier today that he is “ready to go” and his practice status confirms it. It is likely that the Lions continue to lean on Jahmyr Gibbs but Montgomery should be able to at least chip in, in lower-stakes situations.
A.J. Brown

PHI Wide Receiver #11

A.J. Brown (knee/rest) was not seen practicing on Wednesday.

The Eagles have limited Brown’s practice and in-game participation whenever possible as he manages an ongoing knee issue. Unfortunately, the plan has yet to pay dividends; Brown has caught just 4-of-8 targets for 46 yards in his last two games and was given the week off in Week 18. The Eagles will need Brown to contribute against the Rams this week if they hope to keep pace with the Rams’ potent offense. The Eagles later confirmed Brown did not practice at all on Wednesday.
Khalil Mack

LAC Linebacker #52

Chargers coach Jim Harbaugh said he wants to bring Khalil Mack back for the 2025 season.

Harbaugh specifically said that he wants to bring everyone back, and “nobody more than” Mack. Soon to be 34 years old, the impending free agent had a quiet 2024 season. He totaled just six sacks a year after tallying a career-high 17 sacks. Still, Mack was an integral part of an LA defense that immediately turned things around in Harbaugh’s first season as the head coach. We fully expect GM Jim Hortiz to do everything in his power to keep the big names in town.
