stitching and sketching whimsy

Quite a few years ago I started stitching for my children it was a lovely way to have a bit of quiet time while they played nearby. I realised I could stitch my own drawings and I popped a few on flickr. I started getting requests for the patterns and so Lilipopo began.

I have never been able to decide between stitching and sketching! Sometimes I want to stitch and sometimes I want to sketch and paint so Etsy is perfect for me as I can sell my stitching, my sketching and the patterns, panels and kits for you to stitch.

I love fairy tales and children's stories, anything that has a little magic to it really. I love being in other worlds especially moominland (one of my favourite places to be!).

I try to keep my embroidery patterns simple, usually using backstitch and a few french knots. I wanted to create patterns that are simple to stitch but look lovely once finished.

I do all of the everything in my business (there are no lilipopo fairies helping unfortunately!). This means I have to be terribly organized (eek!). I answer all my messages between 8.30am and 9.30am Monday to Friday then I check again just after lunch (around 1pm) I do check once more at 5.30pm. I am based in the UK so these are UK times. I do try to check messages at the weekend but I will probably only reply if they are urgent.
