24 June 2015: Version 1.1

• The stitch counts along the bottom of each chart accidentally skipped from 50 to 60 rather than 50 to 55, leading the remainder of the noted stitches to be off.  The chart and cast on numbers are correct, but were just mislabeled.  This has been corrected to reflect the actual stitch count.

• On Chart B, Row 22, Stitch 82 has been corrected to be a purl symbol (you will knit that stitch from the WS).

• On page 9: Decrease removed from row 4 of the Crown Chart.

18 September 2014:

• (Version 2.0): In the previous pattern version, the cable crosses in the (shaped) crown section were integrated with decreases. The purl decreases have now been moved to neighbor the cable crosses to make the chart easier to read. This affects the 6-stitch cables on Round 39 and the 5-stitch cables on Rounds 41 & 43; however, the changes do not affect the appearance of the finished hat in any way.

13 March 2017: Version 1.1

The following sentence has been removed from the pattern blurb to reflect differences across sizes:

• The Make-1 Purl definition was changed to a closed running thread increase (it was erroneously listed as an open running thread increase). The red section is the correction: make-1 purl by lifting the bar from the row below onto your L needle from back to front and purling it.

19 February 2013: (Version 2.0): We have corrected the written and charted instructions for the diagonal pattern sections, which are a 9-stitch repeat rather than a 10-stitch repeat as previously written. You will work the 10th stitch on the chart in that section only once, as the final stitch of the round.

The pattern description has been corrected to reflect how garment is constructed:

Worked left to right from a provisional cast on, this pullover showcases a single bold cable flanked by delicate eyelets. The gracefully curved back hem and shoulders are shaped as you knit the body, and the three-quarter length sleeves are worked flat and top-down from live stitches. After joining the two sides and seaming the sleeves, the ribbed hem is then picked up and knit to complete the garment. Narrow faux saddles at the shoulders, a welt detail at the neckline, and raw sleeve cuffs lend casual structure, while generous positive ease lets this pullover pair perfectly with slim pants for contemporary comfort.

• (Version 2.0): The written instructions for Crown Shaping have been edited for clarity. The 3-row shaping sequence was re-written as a 6-row shaping sequence. The updated shaping instructions read as follows:
  • Round 1 (Decrease Round 1; Marker Placement): *Knit 2 together (hereafter referred to as k2tog), yarn over, k2tog, knit 8, Slip Slip Knit (hereafter referred to as SSK), yarn over, SSK, place marker; repeat from * to the end of round (omitting final marker placement, as beginning-of-round marker is already on needle).  Upon completion of this round, you will have placed 6 markers and decreased 12 stitches total; 84 stitches remain after first instance of this round is worked.
  • Rounds 2 & 3: Knit all stitches in round.
  • Round 4 (Decrease Round): *K2tog, yarn over, k2tog, knit until 4 stitches remain before next marker, SSK, yarn over, SSK, slip marker; repeat from * to the end of round. 12 stitches decreased.
  • Rounds 5 & 6: Knit all stitches in round.
  • Repeat Rounds 4-6 three more times, slipping the markers when you encounter them and changing to DPNs when necessary.
  • Upon completion of this section, you will have decreased a total of 60 stitches (12 stitches per every Decrease Round); 36 stitches remain on your needle.

• (Version 1.1): Although technically correct, some language in the original version of the pattern was confusing some knitters, so we have revised each paragraph under Rows 1 and 2 of each section with some additional clarifying language.
• On page 7 the WS Row instructions for the {TSSS}, a portion of the instructions that does not apply has been removed as follows: “WS Rows: With yarn held in back, slip first stitch of row as if to knit, bring yarn to front between needles. Work as instructed by pattern until 1 stitch remains in row (this is the second selvedge stitch of row), purl the last stitch.” (WS rows are sometimes knit and sometimes purled in Stowe’s stitch pattern.)

• On page 6, under “Part B2”, instances of “k2” have been changed to “knit 2”.

27 July 2012: (Version 2.0): Cast-on number for the cowl was listed incorrectly – it has been changed to 400 (instead of 358). The stitch gauge was also changed to 20 stitches = 4” (rather than the 22 stitches previously listed).

14 September 2012: (Version 3.0): The first flat purl round (before joining work into the round) was removed. The pattern now joins into the round directly after the cast-on row, and three rounds are then knit. This change was made so that the rolled edge at the beginning and end of cowl is identical in appearance.

19 December 2012: (Version 1.1): The suggested needle size was incorrect throughout the pattern. It now reads “(sugg. 4½ mm / US 7).”

16 January 2013:

• (Version 2.0): Page 5, 2nd column, the final “Shape Raglans” instructions under LEFT FRONT have been corrected to read: “Bind off (at beginning of next 8 WS rows) 2 stitches twice, then 1 stitch 6 times, AND repeat the Raglan Decrease Row 5 more times (on RS rows) – 5 stitches remain.”

8 May 2012:

• The Bind Off rows (first rows) of “Shape Armhole” and “Shape Cap” sections were updated to clarify that the last stitch of the bound off underarm stitches is the first “knit 1” of the 3-stitch raglan rib. This change was made on all pieces (Fronts, Back & Sleeves).
• Right Front: The Decrease Row instructions had the “SSK” and “Slip Marker” reversed. The updated instructions read: “Work as established to marker, slip marker, SSK, work to end of row in pattern.”

2 July 2013: (Version 2.1): Missing measurements on the Schematic have been added for those that only contained 6 sizes, rather than 7.

In Construction Notes, the first bullet point has been changed as follows: 

Shawl is worked in the round from the center out. The lace edging is worked back and forth and attached to the live shawl stitches at the end of every WS row.

10 January 2013:

• (Version 3.1): Page 5, under Rearrange Stitches for 2×2 Ribbing, fixed a typo. It now reads “…repeat from * until 1 stitch remains, slip final stitch toR needle…”

12 December 2016: Version 2.0

On page 7, the following changes have been made:

Under “Work Ribbing”: Begin Flat 2×2 Ribbing (see Stitch Patterns); work 14 (14, 14, 16, 16) rows even, or until cuff measures 21⁄4 (21⁄4, 21⁄4, 21⁄2, 21⁄2)” from cast-on edge, ending with a WS (WS, WS, RS, WS) row, and increasing 0 (0, 0, 1, 0) stitch(es) at each edge on final row. [38 (38, 38, 44, 46) stitches now on needle]

The Sleeve Increase Row 2 has been modified to: Knit 1, slip marker, M1, work as established to last stitch, M1, slip marker, knit 1. (2 stitches increased)

Under “Sizes 8 & 10 Only”, the following note has been added: For Size 8, the side that was previously the WS will now be the RS in order for the ribbing orientation to line up with the chart patterns.

The Sleeve Increase Row has been modified to: Knit 1, M1, work in Moss Stitch to marker, slip marker, work in chart patterns to marker, slip marker, work in Moss Stitch to last stitch, M1, knit 1. (2 stitches increased)

At that point, remove markers and work the previous cable stitches in reverse stockinette stitch until they have been consumed by raglan decreases.

14 September 2012: (Version 2.0): The InvL definition under Abbreviations (page 9) began with an erroneous “With yarn held at front of work”. This portion of the definition has been deleted.

27 September 2012: (Version 3.1): On page 9, Charts B and C’s labels were reversed. In the corrected pattern, Chart C is now the chart on the left side of the page, and Chart B is on the right side of the page.

12 November 2012: (Version 4.0): The “Broderie Anglaise Left” definition within the Legend was updated to the following: ”On Row 1 of chart, SSK (1 stitch is decreased). On Row 2, purl 1. On Row 3 of chart, knit 1, “knit 1 long” (insert the R needle two rows below into the space just to the right of the ssk and knit a stitch, drawing up a long loop onto the R needle) (1 stitch increased)”

19 November 2014: Version 2.0:

• For the first day the pattern was available, an older draft was accidentally released (v1.0) in place of the final pattern. Version 2.0 is the final version of the pattern and has been sent out to all buyers who purchased this pattern on the day of the launch. Our apologies for the oversight!

25 November 2014: Version 3.0:

• On Page 9, column 1, the final row has been removed as follows: “Next Row: Work in established patterns to marker, slip marker, knit to marker, slip marker, work in established patterns to end.“

• On Page 9, under Shape Bodice, further clarification to the note added as follows: “Note: Lower edge of Bodice is shaped using short rows. The markers placed in this section are reminder markers; when the short rows are complete, the final wrapped stitches will be adjacent to these markers.“

27 January 2015: Version 5.0
