Hello Friends – today is the day I start working on the Color Dance BOM quilt. If you are just now hearing about it, HERE are the details. This is a 6-month BOM program. I will be posting the blocks I make on the 17th of each month.
You may read about Month 1 if you missed it HERE.
You may read about Month 2 if you missed it HERE.

SPECIAL NOTE ON PATTERN/KIT:
COLOR DANCE is a special BOM, exclusively designed for QT Fabrics. The only way to access the pattern is through purchasing the kits from participating shops! So, check with your local shops to see if they are participating in the Color Dance program. Also, the BOM program might not happen at the same time as I am running the sewalong. So, you may just follow along until you are able to get your hands on the kits/fabrics.
FEEL FREE TO EMAIL ME AT WENDY2@WENDYSHEPPARD IF YOU ARE CURIOUS IF YOUR LOCAL AREA QUILT SHOPS ARE PART OF THIS PROGRAM.
SO FAR, I see that JKQuilts is selling the entire kit (bright version) HERE.
My friend Diane also alerted me that Woodside Quilting in IA is selling the kit as well. In fact, she was cutting the kits a couple of weeks when she texted me. Click HERE for the link.
I am also seeing kits are being sold on Etsy HERE.

SKILL LEVEL – WIN WIN for all skill levels
This is meant to be a beginner friendly project, as well as a seasoned quilter friendly project. A beginner will learn that if one masters the art of making half-square-triangle units (HST), one is more than half way to being able to make 65% of the quilt designs out there happen. And a beginner is able to accomplish a project that doesn’t exactly look like a beginner project.
For a seasoned quilter, sometimes, one might just want something simple with an interesting visual effect. Color Dance is such a quilt.
HERE ARE MY MONTH 3 BLOCKS

A FEW THOUGHTS
1. The aim for Month 3 blocks is to show 2 different ways to make flying geese units. You could either make them the usual way, but you could also make them using half-square-triangle units.
2. You may also use the opportunity to explore whether you like cutting your seams open, or to the other side through the Month 3 blocks. For myself, I generally press my seams open when I construct flying geese units.
That’s it for Color Dance BOM Month 3. I will see you again on January 17 to work on Month 3 blocks. Oh dear — the new year is upon us!
