Perkembangan dunia musik di tanah air seperti ngga ada
habisnya. Seiring nge-trend-nya "notasi Melayu", inilah Velvet,
yang meng-claim diri sebagai band pengusung genre Pop
Merdu, Pop Melayu dan Dangdut Rock ini hadir memperkaya
khazanah musik 'pop melayu' di Indonesia.
Berangkat dari album "Kompilasi Band Baru" rilisan EMI
Music Indonesia tahun lalu, Velvet mengangkat kreativitas
mereka lewat single MEMANG PANTAS, yang kini menjadi
judul album pertama band asal Kota Kembang ini. Lagu
'Memang Pantas' sendiri sempat wara-wiri di beberapa chart
radio di luar Jakarta.
Velvet lahir di Bandung, 1 Januari 2004, berangkat dari persahabatan antara Ramdhani (vocal), Angga
Suhendra (guitar), Andri Setiawan (guitar), Tedi Kurniawan (bass) dan Pupung Purwanto (drum) di Studio
Taz, Bandung. Nama 'Velvet' sendiri dipilih berdasarkan filosofi dari arti kata dan tekstur VELVET (yang
artinya 'beludru') sendiri yaitu 'halus dan elegan.'
Band yang belum pernah sama sekali berganti personil ini juga pernah mencatat prestasi sebagai juara di ajang
Festival Band se-Bandung Barat (2007) dan sering tampil di café -café di Bandung sejak tahun 2004.
Dalam penggarapan album anyarnya ini, Velvet dibantu sejumlah musisi seperti Henkie Sahurilla, Yuke NS
dan Arnel Affandi, yang juga berperan sebagai produser. Pengerjaan album memakan waktu sebulan di
Bandung sepanjang bulan Juli 2009.
Single pertama yang dipilih untuk album MEMANG PANTAS ini adalah CINTA BILANG BEGITU
("CBB"). Shooting video klip "CBB" diselesaikan sehari penuh pada 6 Agustus 2009 lalu dan mengambil 4
lokasi di Bandung. Video klip ini di sutradarai oleh Adithya Zen .Konsep video klipnya yaitu dimana para
personil VELVET merupakan sahabat akrab . Salah satu dari mereka yaitu Dhani menjalin hubungan dengan
seorang cewe dan sampai suatu saat Pedro juga menjalin hubungan dengan cewe yang sama. Anak2 lain yang
mengetahui hal ini bingung dan memberitahu kepada Pedro. Tetapi pada akhir cerita, mereka baru menyadari
ternyata cewe yang dipacari oleh Dahni dan Pedro adalah kembar

Velvet
Velvet is a type of woven tufted fabric in which the cut threads are evenly distributed, with a short dense pile, giving it a distinctive feel. By extension, the word velvety means "smooth like velvet." Velvet can be made from either synthetic or natural fibers.
Construction & composition
Velvet is woven on a special loom that weaves two thicknesses of the material at the same time. The two pieces are then cut apart to create the pile effect, and the two lengths of fabric are wound on separate take-up rolls. This complicated process meant that velvet was expensive to make before industrial power looms became available, and well-made velvet remains a fairly costly fabric. Velvet is difficult to clean because of its pile, but modern dry cleaning methods make cleaning more feasible. Velvet pile is created by warp or vertical yarns and velveteen pile is created by weft or fill yarns.
Velvet can be made from several different kinds of fibers, traditionally, the most expensive of which is silk. Much of the velvet sold today as "silk velvet" is actually a mix of rayon and silk. Velvet made entirely from silk is rare and usually has market prices of several hundred US dollars per yard. Cotton is also used to make velvet, though this often results in a less luxurious fabric. Velvet can also be made from fibers such as linen, mohair, and wool. A cloth made by the Kuba people of the Democratic Republic of Congo from raffia is often referred to as "Kuba velvet". More recently, synthetic velvets have been developed, mostly from polyester, nylon, viscose, acetate, and from either mixtures of different synthetics or from combined synthetics and natural fibers (for example viscose mixed with silk produces a very soft, reflective fabric). A small percentage of spandex is sometimes added to give the final material a certain amount of stretch (hence "stretch velvet").

Plot: Coming Attractions is a short film consisting of 4 interlinked fake movie trailers, each done in a different style. The first, 'The Restaurateur' is the story of a restaurant owner forced to return to a life of crime. The second, 'V-Squad' follows a quintet of sexy female assassins recruited by a government agency to battle organized crime. The third, 'La Venganza del Diablo Azul' features the luchador El Diablo Azul revived from the dead to seek revenge against those who murdered his family, and the fourth and final trailer, 'V-Squad Part 2' returns to the V-Squad as they face an army of vicious extra-terrestrial mutants.

Perkembangan dunia musik di tanah air seperti ngga ada
habisnya. Seiring nge-trend-nya "notasi Melayu", inilah Velvet,
yang meng-claim diri sebagai band pengusung genre Pop
Merdu, Pop Melayu dan Dangdut Rock ini hadir memperkaya
khazanah musik 'pop melayu' di Indonesia.
Berangkat dari album "Kompilasi Band Baru" rilisan EMI
Music Indonesia tahun lalu, Velvet mengangkat kreativitas
mereka lewat single MEMANG PANTAS, yang kini menjadi
judul album pertama band asal Kota Kembang ini. Lagu
'Memang Pantas' sendiri sempat wara-wiri di beberapa chart
radio di luar Jakarta.
Velvet lahir di Bandung, 1 Januari 2004, berangkat dari persahabatan antara Ramdhani (vocal), Angga
Suhendra (guitar), Andri Setiawan (guitar), Tedi Kurniawan (bass) dan Pupung Purwanto (drum) di Studio
Taz, Bandung. Nama 'Velvet' sendiri dipilih berdasarkan filosofi dari arti kata dan tekstur VELVET (yang
artinya 'beludru') sendiri yaitu 'halus dan elegan.'
Band yang belum pernah sama sekali berganti personil ini juga pernah mencatat prestasi sebagai juara di ajang
Festival Band se-Bandung Barat (2007) dan sering tampil di café -café di Bandung sejak tahun 2004.
Dalam penggarapan album anyarnya ini, Velvet dibantu sejumlah musisi seperti Henkie Sahurilla, Yuke NS
dan Arnel Affandi, yang juga berperan sebagai produser. Pengerjaan album memakan waktu sebulan di
Bandung sepanjang bulan Juli 2009.
Single pertama yang dipilih untuk album MEMANG PANTAS ini adalah CINTA BILANG BEGITU
("CBB"). Shooting video klip "CBB" diselesaikan sehari penuh pada 6 Agustus 2009 lalu dan mengambil 4
lokasi di Bandung. Video klip ini di sutradarai oleh Adithya Zen .Konsep video klipnya yaitu dimana para
personil VELVET merupakan sahabat akrab . Salah satu dari mereka yaitu Dhani menjalin hubungan dengan
seorang cewe dan sampai suatu saat Pedro juga menjalin hubungan dengan cewe yang sama. Anak2 lain yang
mengetahui hal ini bingung dan memberitahu kepada Pedro. Tetapi pada akhir cerita, mereka baru menyadari
ternyata cewe yang dipacari oleh Dahni dan Pedro adalah kembar
