Bangalore /bæŋɡəˈlɔːr/, officially known as Bengaluru ([ˈbeŋɡəɭuːɾu]), is the capital of the Indian state of Karnataka. It has a population of about 8.42 million and a metropolitan population of about 8.52 million, making it the third most populous city and fifth most populous urban agglomeration in India. Located in southern India on the Deccan Plateau, at a height of over 900 m (3,000 ft) above sea level, Bangalore is known for its pleasant climate throughout the year. Its elevation is the highest among the major large cities of India.
A succession of South Indian dynasties, the Western Gangas, the Cholas and the Hoysalas, ruled the present region of Bangalore until in 1537 CE, Kempé Gowdā – a feudal ruler under the Vijayanagara Empire – established a mud fort considered to be the foundation of modern Bangalore. In 1638, the Marāthās conquered and ruled Bangalore for almost 50 years, after which the Mughals captured and sold the city to the Mysore Kingdom of the Wadiyar dynasty. It was captured by the British after victory in the Fourth Anglo-Mysore War (1799), who returned administrative control of the city to the Maharaja of Mysore. The old city developed in the dominions of the Maharaja of Mysore and was made capital of the Princely State of Mysore, which existed as a nominally sovereign entity of the British Raj. In 1809, the British shifted their cantonment to Bangalore, outside the old city, and a town grew up around it, which was governed as part of British India. Following India's independence in 1947, Bangalore became the capital of Mysore State, and remained capital when the new Indian state of Karnataka was formed in 1956. The two urban settlements of Bangalore – city and cantonment – which had developed as independent entities merged into a single urban centre in 1949. The existing Kannada name, Bengalūru, was declared the official name of the city in 2006.

Bangalore 560023 is a 2015 Indian Kannada sports comedy film directed by Pradeep Raj. The film stars Karthik Jayaram, Chandan Kumar, Chikkanna, Dhruva Sharma, Rajeev in the lead along with Sanjjanaa and Shivani, making her acting debut as well. The film is a remake of Tamil film, Chennai 600028 (2007) directed by Venkat Prabhu, which was a blockbuster hit.
The film is produced by Puneeth B. P. and Manu and the film's score and soundtrack are composed by Arun Andrews. The film is based on street cricket played in India, focussing on various themes as friendship, love and rivalry in a suburban area. The film's title is derived from the pincode for Magadi Road, a suburb of Bengaluru, where the story takes place.
Arun Andrews scored the film's background music and the soundtrack for the film. The lyrics for the soundtracks was penned by Pradeep Raj, Chandan Shetty and Shailesh Raj. The soundtrack album consists of nine tracks which follow the same tunes of the Tamil original film composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja. It was released on 22 November 2014 in Bangalore, in the presence of actors Sudeep, Yash, and former cricketers Syed Kirmani and Vijay Bharadwaj.
India (Syriac: Beth Hindaye) was an ecclesiastical province of the Church of the East, from the seventh to the sixteenth century. The Malabar Coast of India had long been home to a thriving East Syrian (Nestorian) Christian community, known as the St. Thomas Christians. The community traces its origins to the evangelical activity of Thomas the Apostle in the 1st century. The Indian Christian community were initially part of the metropolitan province of Fars, but were detached from that province in the 7th century, and again in the 8th, and given their own metropolitan bishop.
Due to the distance between India and the seat of the Patriarch of the Church of the East, communication with the church's heartland was often spotty, and the province was frequently without a bishop. As such, the Indian church was largely autonomous in operation, though the authority of the Patriarch was always respected. In the 16th century, the Portuguese arrived in India and tried to bring the community under the authority of the Latin Rite of the Catholic Church. The Portuguese ascendancy was formalised at the Synod of Diamper in 1599, which effectively abolished the historic Nestorian metropolitan province of India. Angamaly, the former seat of the Nestorian metropolitans, was downgraded to a suffragan diocese of the Latin Archdiocese of Goa.

A city is a large and permanent human settlement. Although there is no agreement on how a city is distinguished from a town in general English language meanings, many cities have a particular administrative, legal, or historical status based on local law.
Cities generally have complex systems for sanitation, utilities, land usage, housing, and transportation. The concentration of development greatly facilitates interaction between people and businesses, benefiting both parties in the process, but it also presents challenges to managing urban growth.
A big city or metropolis usually has associated suburbs and exurbs. Such cities are usually associated with metropolitan areas and urban areas, creating numerous business commuters traveling to urban centers for employment. Once a city expands far enough to reach another city, this region can be deemed a conurbation or megalopolis. In terms of population, the largest city proper is Shanghai, while the fastest-growing is Dubai.
There is not enough evidence to assert what conditions gave rise to the first cities. Some theorists have speculated on what they consider suitable pre-conditions and basic mechanisms that might have been important driving forces.
Texas has a total of 254 counties, many cities, and numerous special districts, the most common of which is the independent school district.
Texas has a total of 254 counties, by far the largest number of counties of any state.
Each county is run by a five-member Commissioners' Court consisting of four commissioners elected from single-member districts (called commissioner precincts) and a county judge elected at-large. The county judge does not have authority to veto a decision of the commissioners court; the judge votes along with the commissioners (being the tie-breaker in close calls). In smaller counties, the county judge actually does perform judicial duties, but in larger counties the judge's role is limited to serving on the commissioners court and certifying elections. Certain officials, such as the sheriff and tax collector, are elected separately by the voters, but the commissioners court determines their office budgets, and sets overall county policy. All county elections are partisan, and commissioner precincts are redistricted after each ten year Census both to equalize the voting power in each and in consideration of the political party preferences of the voters in each.

On a day when its students were enjoying their weekly holiday, a school near Whitefield was the centre stage for a tense encounter between Forest officials and a leopard on Sunday. During the nearly 10-hour-long drama, two people were injured before the leopard was tranquilised on the school premises. Around 4 a.m., the security at Vibgyor High in Marathahalli suspected that a leopard had broken into the school premises. CCTV camera footage showing the big cat skulking through the corridors of the school and even entering the kitchen, confirmed their fear. Forest Department staff were called in, and two teams were formed to scour the school. “It was an 8-year-old full-grown male leopard. It may have strayed from the open forests near Whitefield, and once strayed, it could not go back,” s...

i lie awake and feel your nearness i never wanted more than this
i don't wanna run beneath your tears
i don't wanna catch them when they're falling
but now i lie upon my face and though we tried
i guess that's the way it's supposed to be
don't say goodbye say goodnight so it's not over
and if you try and answer why it's just over it's goodbye
i hope to see the dawn of daybreak and the sun rise to cloudless skies
and now i've tried to see the truth but i close my eyes
and you were there for me and i was there for you
don't say goodbye say goodnight so it's not over
and if you try and answer why it's just over it's goodbye
but now i lie upon my face and though we tried
i guess that's the way it's supposed to be
don't say goodbye say goodnight so it's not over
and if you try and answer why it's just over it's goodbye
it's goodbye
