We’re so excited to welcome @donnafayesbakery to Union Market! Founded by Jamila Jenkins, this family-owned bakery is a beautiful tribute to her mother, Donna Faye-Pitts Jenkins, and the cherished recipes passed down through generations.
As a child, Jamila watched her mom bake what everyone called her “famous butter cookies”—melt-in-your-mouth treats that weren’t just about the taste but about love, tradition and legacy. Donna started D’s Gourmet Butter Cookies in 2006, but after her sudden passing in 2010, Jamila took up her mom’s passion, carrying the legacy forward.
Now, Donna Faye’s Bakery brings you Chicago-style butter cookies, rich pound cakes and more—all made with the same heart and tradition Jamila learned as her mom’s sous-chef. Every bite is a taste of home and a celebration of family. 🧡 #MadeInDC #BlackOwned
