    Maryland Senate has advanced a bill pushing off new part-time sick leave policy from next week to July 1. But senators say they still don't expect the House to act.

    Maryland businesses have ten days before they have to start tracking part-time workers' sick leave, and an effort to give them more time is at a dead end.

    Automatic voter registration seems like a no-brainer to furthering democracy, but most of the questions I’m hearing are like, “but what about a hypothetical [case that could come up even now but never has]?” Opposition to good public policy tends not to be rooted in reality.
