    I’ll respond to the consultation on the new framework but OfSTED still hammers schools in challenged communities. Our most “outstanding” colleagues break their backs here but their contribution isn’t recognised. No wonder it’s hard to recruit and retain staff 🤔

    can you explain to the thing about 83% of grammar schools being rated 'Outstanding' and how that links to this graph? They're spending £50 million a year expanding the 11-plus because they don't get this and you don't explain.

    I’ve been saying for a long time that vocational ed is underrated+schools are too focussed on traditional academic routes, which are not for everybody. Interested in this idea from Education Select Committee chair What do you think of it?

    Ah. Some radical thinking here which is badly needed. We need to stand back and consider a relevant set of qualifications for 21C and not just dismiss. ⁦⁩ backing the ideas in principle. Sir Mike Tomlinson’s ideas have come of age.
