    The two times I have spent time in Germany, I have been struck by how the country’s complex attitudes towards history play out. Reading this piece by my brilliant colleague vividly reminded me of how misleading any single idea of “Germany” is.

    Text Shot: All this suggests to me that the consensus about Germany’s past is cracking. Perhaps it was never a real consensus to begin with.
