You are Beautiful…

Hi there!

I’m sharing today a simple card.

SUPPLIES Stamps: trumpet song (40-377); letter background (1999L), heartful (30-286) Color: Old Paper Distress Ink (Ranger); Distress Markers (Ranger); Inktense Pencils (Derwent); Black Onyx Versafine (Tsukineko) Other: Clear EP (Ranger); MISTI (My Sweet Petunia)

It’s a traditional looking card. I simply wanted to highlight the beautiful floral stamp, Trumpet Song (40-377). I first lightly stamped my card panel with Letter Background (1999L) using Old Paper Distress Ink. I then positioned the floral stamp on my MISTI and started adding color with Distress Markers and lightly spraying water to the stamp. I started coloring the flowers and then the leaves. I repeated the process until I was happy with the coloring. Inktense pencils were used to add more detail. Once the image was completely colored, I mounted my panel on a kraft paper panel. The sentiment from Heartfelt (30-286) on the card base was stamped and heat embossed.

Peace on Earth

Happy New Year!

I thought it would be appropriate to start the year with a card that evokes the beauty of winter and a peaceful evening. This is my favorite Christmas card I made in 2016 because of it’s simplicity and, in my opinion, quiet beauty.

On Bristol paper, I stamped the lovely Snowy Home designed by Stacy Yacula for Purple Onion Designs. I colored the image with watercolor markers (Kuretake Zig Clean Color). Once colored I added a mask and created the evening sky with dark purples and dark blue Distress Inks. The sentiment is from an old Ali Edwards Technique Tuesday Christmas set was stamped with Versafine Black Onyx ink and embossed with clear powder.

I hope the year begins well and is filled with happiness and more creative time!

Hello!

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday. I’m still on vacation mode and enjoying the relative quiet. I have 2 cards to share today as I try to catch up with my posts.

I made a simple card using Penny Black products. The images are from the clear set Gleeful (30-266). I stamped with black ink and watercolored the image as well as create a blue background. The sentiment at the bottom of the card is from Holiday Snippets (30-307).

Happy December!

I’m slowly (very slowly) checking off my Christmas to-do list. Here is another Christmas card to share.

SUPPLIES Stamps: Bells & Boughs (PTI); Silver Bells (WPlus9); Woodland Wreaths (WPlus9); Believe (Penny Black: 30-310) Dies: Bells & Boughs (PTI) Color: Various Green Inks (Hero Arts); Versafine Black Onyx (Tsukineko); Clean Color Watercolor Markers (Kuretake) Other: Clear EP (Ranger); Queens Gold EP (Ranger)

I used a variety of stamps to create my leaf border. They were stamps with various hues of dye ink. I added a few red berries to add a change of color. The bells and ribbon were stamped and embossed with gold powder. I colored them with watercolor makers. The sentiment is from Penny Black.

Toasty Greetings

I hope you are enjoying your weekend. The temperature has finally fallen and we enjoying brisk weather in our parts.

I have a Christmas card to share….

SUPPLIES: Stamps: Toasty Greetings (MFT). Dies: Stitched Slopes & Hills (SSS) Color: Clean Color Real Brush Markers (Zig Kuretake); Distress Ink (Ranger), Versafine Black Onyx (Tsukineko) Other: Clear Embossing Powder (Ranger); White Embossing Powder (Ranger), Clear Sequins

I’ve been wanting to play with MFT’s Birdie Brown designs. I decided to use the snowman set, Toasty Greetings, to create my card. The snowman, penguin and fire images were stamped and heat embossed and then colored with watercolor markers. I created the background by using various colors of dark blue and purple distress ink by simply pouncing on my panel using a small sponge ink dabber. Once I completed the background, I die cut my snowy hill using SSS Stitched Slopes & Hills. I placed my colored images on the panel and added a sentiment with white embossing powder.

Thankful

Hello!

Thanksgiving is coming literally around the corner and I’m trying to make time (and motivation) to get my recipe and grocery list together.

Here’s a card I made to celebrate the beautiful colors of the fall and to celebrate this wonderful holiday.

To create the background on my card panel (Bristol paper), I stamped several Fall colored theme Distress ink (Ripe Persimmon, Candied Apple, Rusty Hinge, Gathered Twigs to name a few) on the set, Filigree Foliage (40-358). I randomly stamped the images and then lightly colored the edges of the panel with Crushed Olive Distress Ink. I die cut a circle using the set Encircled (51-074) from black cardstock and stamped a sentiment from Pretty Petals (30-288) using white embossing powder. I wrapped twine around the panel and then added my sentiment circle. The panel was added to my card base with dimensional foam.
