GETTING STARTED

ProPhoto works with your own domain, just about any web-hosting in the world, and is based on the totally free software that powers more than 25% of the internet. That means tons of options and freedom for you. This page will break down the steps for you.

GET A DOMAIN AND HOSTING PLAN

All you need is your own domain, a web-hosting account, and a free installation of WordPress.  If you've already got a domain and hosting, you're basically done.  If not, it's easy and inexpensive to get your own little piece of the internet, and we'll walk you through the whole process.

Step 1a: Purchase Domain

You'll need your own domain, like http://mysite.com. A sub-domain through a third-party service like http://mysite.wordpress.com won't work. Already got one? You're all set! More info.

Step 1b: Get Hosting

Just about any web-hosting in the world works fine with ProPhoto, so you can almost certainly keep who you've got.  Or, click here to sign up with our recommended host and receive a $30 rebate. More info.

Step 1c: Install WordPress

If you've got a domain and hosting, next you need WordPress.  The vast majority of web hosts have simple one-click installer wizards, so this part is a breeze too. And, totally free.

Step 1d: Install ProPhoto

Finally, ProPhoto is installed as a "theme" for WordPress.  This usually means just uploading the installer plugin after you purchase, and the rest is automatic. More detailed instructions can be found here.

CHOOSE A DESIGN

When you purchase Pro Photo, the theme comes complete with 6 FREE included designs from some of our best designers. Pick the one that most closely matches your vision for your site, and then start customizing to make it your own!

CUSTOMIZE

Once you pick a design, it takes just a few clicks to make it your own. You can make a few small changes and be on your way -- or dig in and take complete control, building a totally custom site without touching a single line of code.

LAUNCH

ProPhoto has built-in tools to let you keep a different theme or different design active while you're customizing.  Then, once you're happy with your design, go live! All that is left is for you to sit back, relax, and focus on what you do best, letting your ProPhoto site work for you.
