YouTube Red Original Promoted Via Google Assistant Streaming
Google advertises latest YouTube Original by making first episode free via Assistant.
Impulse is a YouTube Red series that recently debuted. The show is based on the novel with the same name, and follows 16-year-old character Henrietta, also known as Henry. Impulse is a series from Bourne Identity director Doug Liman about a young girl who can teleport herself out of trouble, at the cost of breaking everything (and everyone) in the vicinity.
Google is making the first episode available to anyone who uses Google Assistant to launch it. To do that, users must tell the Assistant to “Talk to Impulse.” Once that command is received, Google Assistant will rattle off a quick intro to the show and ask the user for the secret password.
The user then gives the password, which is “Henry” or other variations of the main character’s name (“Henry Coles,” etc). If you don’t give it the password, Assistant will send you off to research the show and figure out the name yourself. The series will be a YouTube Red Original and require a subscription going forward to access the remainder of the series.
It’s an interesting way to not only promote the upcoming show, but also a way to promote Google Assistant and its feature that lets you talk to it to stream content just by speaking to it.

Control your chromecast media via iOS devices with media control widget
Are you using Google’s Home app on your iOS device? If yes, Google updated this app with media control widget, which users can use to control media that they are watching on their televisions via Chromecast.
Google came up with a media control notification last year that popped up on Android devices whenever users try to cast something to Google Chromecast or Google Home.To bring this feature to iOS devices, Google now has a Media Controls widget as part of the Home app.
How to use media controls widget?
If you've multiple casting devices at home, then you can make use of this widget to identify and connect those devices to the TV. This widget allows up to four casting devices to connect at once and will let you to play, pause and stop content.
Install the latest version of the Google Home app from App Store. Next, you’re going to want to swipe down from the top, your iOS device’s main home screen to access the Today View. Scroll to the bottom, tap on Edit, find the Home app option under More widgets and then select the green add icon. You can now access your favorite media in a much easier way via this widget

Google Home can now speak in Spanish dialects from US, Mexico, and Spain
The Spanish language has had Google Assistant support for a long time now on phones, but only in a generic format. Google has rolled out three new Spanish dialects to make the Assistant voice sound more natural to your native ear.
Google Assistant now speaks Spanish dialects: España, México, and EE.UU. (Estados Unidos). Available in Google Home’s settings, users can adjust the device’s language to one of three Spanish dialects including España, México, and EE.UU, which are used in Spain, Mexico, and the US respectively.
To change your language settings on Google Home, open up the Google Home app, navigate to “More Settings,” and find your Home speaker in the “Devices” section. Under that, there should be an option to change “Assistant language,” with support for these new options listed.

There is much more to a smart home than control of lighting or audio equipment.
The three most requested systems for a smart home are security systems, heating and lighting. These main features give our customers the best experience in the protection and comfort of their homes.
With an integrated alarm system, take control of your system from anywhere, get notifications and allow one setting procedure to simultaneously set lighting to an away mode where a self learning program will turn lights on and off to simulate your normal movements and lock your doors automatically.
Heating systems can be set to automatically turn down or off when you leave your home or be set to run at different temperatures dependent on what you are doing.
Lighting can be set to automatically adjust brightness levels at certain times of the day, be set to turn on automatically when your burglar or smoke alarm activates and have multiple dimmer levels and switched lights turn on from one press of a button.
All of the above can be voice controlled using Amazon's voice assistant Alexa which gives you hands free control of your home.
