I only had to walk outside the front door for todays Mushroom shot these ones are all over the front footpath today after the week of rain here.
Reminder for anyone in the South West area of Sydney next week Sat 25th March Fungi - Dr Brett Summerell will be in the Plant Bank of the Australian Botanical Gardens from 10:00 till 1:00, I don't know what will be on display as yet, but each day on the weekend they have a different expert on hand to answer questions and have some kind of display, check out the Australian Botanical Gardens, face book page for all the details. I'll drop in after my Bird photography workshop I'm running in the gardens that morning to see whats on display.

This weeks shot was taken this afternoon in the Australian Botanical Gardens, Mount Annan, Again after the rain the other week the gardens are still alive with mushrooms, this week I found quite a lot of larger ones, Including this shot for the week.

For those in the Sydney Region on the 25th of March, The Australian Botanical Gardens, Mount Annan will have their Fungi Expert Dr Brett Summerell having some sort of display in the plant bank from 10:00 till 1:00. The same day I'm running a Bird Photography work shop for the gardens. So come along and see what Brett has to show. My work shop will finish around 11:30 so I'll stick my head in as see whats on show then.

Back home again after two weeks in Tasmania, back to a week week so good news on the mushroom front at home. Today I went out in the the Australian Botanical Gardens, Mount Annan and everywhere I looked I found Mushrooms today, the wet weather certainly bought them out. This is the first week of Autumn here in Australia, so the temps have started to cool down for the high forties we've been having of late. For those that live near the Australian Botanical gardens the plant bank is now going to be open all Autumn on the weekend between 10:00 and 2:00, with each day on the weekend a different scientist on duty, today was Seaweed, tomorrow Geology, and in the coming weeks there will be a Fungi Scientist on duty for the day, If I find out the date I'll keep you posted. In the mean time hers one of the shots for todays walk int he gardens. These ones are tiny, only about 4 to 6mm in Diameter. (1/4")

This weeks mushroom shot again taken in Tasmania, This time Mount Field National Park south of Hobart. Just back home tonight after two weeks photographing Tasmania. Great time down there wiht great people. Two light set up and focus stacked. Love the little Orange mushroom growing on this green moss covered log. Best viewed large for the finer details in this one.

With all the hot weather in Sydney the last few days had to travel a bit further a field for this weeks mushroom shot 912km south of todays shot taken this afternoon at Liffey falls Tasmania, near Launceston. Todays Temperate at home was 47 Deg C (116.6 Deg F). So warming up there.

This weeks shot is one form a few weeks ago, the same mushroom from a different angle and different lighting. No luck on the mushroom front this week.
For those the follow the regular mushroom Saturday post I do, I may be missing in acton for the next three weeks as I'll be traveling and not have wifi from time to time, to post shots. But for two weeks I'll be on a photography tour of Tasmania so watch my feed for some shots from there, Being a lot further south and a lot water than Sydney is hoping to find plenty of new Mushrooms, for the coming weeks. I'll post here on Saturdays if I have access.

For this weeks Mushroom shot I didn't have to go far, these little yellow mushrooms (Leucocoprinus birnbaumii) were growing in one of my flowerpots on the back veranda. with another 35 degree C day see I bought these inside to shoot in the comfort of the air conditioned house.

Little bit cooler this weekend only 30 odd degrees today better than last weeks 40 plus, also a bit of rain yesterday so high hopes of a find when I went out today. Only just but I did mange to find this pair. Shot in the Australian Botanical Gardens, Mount Annan.

A new year and so the Saturday hunt for mushrooms begins again :-). Not so successful today could have something to do with the 45 Deg C temp out the today, But I still went out and looked. Pretty hot out there. So no luck this weekend, how ever the last two weeks yes so heres one for the break to start the year off on the right foot. Taken in the Australian Botanical Gardens, Mount Annan.
