Dawn Rang Rang: That person is in jail lol ask them to check it out!

Christina Grimes: Me and my husband got a DNA test and we sent it in almost 2 years ago and never got a answer back cost us almost 200 dollars

Uncle Jay Bee: there are honest people out there which are few and between as the majority are just chasing money. there are programs like roots magic that also do ancestery dna tests . Some information is off the mark and some is on the money. I've had people publicly change my families details as info is shared out publicly thru partnered sites. But the really the only way to protect what you have is to use a good program for backing up what you have.

Some allow you to import info from other programs. Ancestry aren't the only people that can help. try using familysearch.org - Free Family History and Genealogy Records — FamilySearch.org its 100% free and you have access to more than 1billion free names worldwide.

I have been involved in indexing for others over the years on and off providing info that's helped many find their correct family.

One big word of advice from me is this if others have your same surname and live very far away from the original family township there is a high possibility that they are maybe 5th generated relations. The best way to help you find whats going on is to look thru census records and also to view newspaper articles etc.

It's a real safe bet that families with your surname that live within 100miles from your ancestors original township are related.

next time I'm online I'll give you guys some other sites that are huge database wise and are very specific for locales etc.

Janel Edmonds: Anyone, .anybody. ..anyone hello👏

Joyce Edmonds: Lots of Edmonds in Kansas.

Jane Roark: I typed in What is the meaning of "Edmonds"
This is what I found: Last name: Edmonds
Hope this helps. Jane

SDB Popularity ranking: 1837

This interesting name is one of the many patronymic forms of Edmond, which is derived from the Middle English (1200 - 1500) given name "Edmund" from the Old English pre 7th Century "Eadmund", composed of the elements "ead", prosperity, fortune, and "mund, protection. In medieval England and France the name was often bestowed in honour of the East Anglian King, St. Edmund the martyr, who was killed by pagan Danish invaders in 869. The name development since 1210 (see below) includes the following: John Edmond (1275, Worcestershire), Sibil Edmund (1275, Worcestershire), William Admond (1349, Cambridgeshire), Robert Edmondson (1379, Yorkshire) and John Edmundson (1414, Yorkshire). The modern surname can be found as Edmond(s), Edmons, Edmund(s), Edmondson and Edmundson. An interesting namebearer was Sir William Edmonds, who was a Scottish colonel in the Dutch service; he was killed during the defence of Rhineberg in 1606. Henry, son of Henry and Jane Edmonds, was christened on September 10th 1749 at All Hallows, London Wall, London. The first recorded spelling of the family name is shown to be that of Nicholaus Edmundus, which was dated 1210, Curia Regis Rolls, Cambridgeshire, during the reign of King John, known as "Lackland", 1199 - 1216. Surnames became necessary when governments introduced personal taxation. In England this was known as Poll Tax. Throughout the centuries, surnames in every country have continued to "develop" often leading to astonishing variants of the original spelling.

Who remembers having a pair of roller skates growing up? #TBT #ThrowbackThursday

Show all 81 comments

Jane Roark: I had a pair of skates of roller skates at age 12, and I skated 2 to 3 times a week after school and homework was done. Then "Boys" became important and skating was in the past, unless there was a party at the skating rink. Oh growing up was a lot of good clean fun. So different than today!!!!!!

Ovalene Herrera: SKATING WAS MY LIFE. THEY TOOK ME EVERY WHERE. I WAS LUCKY TO HAVE LIVED IN
THE CITY WITH LOTS OF SIDEWALKS.
YES SO DIFFERENT TODAY.

Tom Hound: +Jane Roark jane - just noticed your comment regarding roller skates. for me i would skate at an indoor rink every Friday night and then sat and Sunday. it was where in the 50's i met my first steady girlfriend - my dad would pick us up and i would pay extra for his gas to keep driving the long way around. long after that girlfriend was gone i was still skating and had my skates sent to Texas and then Europe in the late 60's. Somehow i lost trak of those roller skates in the 70's and when wee moved to California and roller skating was making a come back. i contacted Surgrip company here in southern ca. the owner remember my olympic plates and told me to stop by. He went out in the factory/warehouse and came back with a pair of xl plates and told me to enjoy. i got a pair of good boots and enjoyed skating with my children in the 80's and 90's. now my knees are gone but i still have the skates and was suprised to find they are worth over 500 dollars. and Jane it can still be good clean fun.
