The mission and educational purpose of JAMA and the JAMA Network Journals is to promote the science and art of medicine and the betterment of the public health. Readers of JAMA Network CME should be able to attain the following educational objectives: (1) participate in the CME activity(s) to gain new medical information on a topic of general medical interest, (2) complete the quiz to assess their knowledge gained from participating in the activity, and (3) think carefully about how this new information may influence their own practices as reflected in the Commitment to Change form. The educational objective for the CME article(s) immediately precedes the CME Quiz.
In 2017, physician subscribers to any JAMA Network journal are eligible for the JN Learning CME program. As a benefit of membership, AMA members are also eligible for CME offered as part of the JN Learning program, which encompasses CME quizzes from all JAMA Network journals.
You can access CME activities from the JN Learning home page or from the article, audio, video, or interactive on which the CME course is based. To earn CME credit, complete the activity that is designated for CME credit carefully and take the CME quiz. You can view and print a certificate awarding AMA PRA Category 1 CME Credit™ when you successfully complete the quiz. You may take a quiz as many times as you like until you complete it successfully. Once you complete it successfully, you cannot take the quiz again. Your credits will be tracked in your JAMA Network profile.
Some drugs discussed for specific indications in JAMA and JAMA Network Journal CME articles may not be approved for labeling and advertising for those indications by the United States Food and Drug Administration.

Final decisions regarding manuscript publication and CME content are made by an editor who does not have any relevant relationships with a commercial interest; thus, the editor has nothing to disclose.

There are two ways to get to JAMA Network Learning from the AMA site. There is a main navigation menu at the top of the page and there is also a search that permits you to discover educational activities across the AMA.
Here are the two options with screen shots. The first is the simplest – just link over the JN.com and tap "Learning." You can then browse all activities or search directly.
Top Navigation Menu
Tap the “American Medical Association” drop down from the top of the site and choose "JAMA Network"
This will bring you to https://jamanetwork.com where you can choose “Learning” from the main menu to go straight into educational activities
You can then browse in the old method from the old site or search directly
Use the Education menu and search for Activities
Tap “Education” which is a drop down - then tap “Continuing Medical Education”
Scroll down and choose “Search CME”
Enter a search term, Filter for JAMA Network, and choose a result
This will bring you to the article on JAMA Network, and then you tap the CME button to take the activity
If you are signed into your personal JAMA Network account within your institution and your institution has an online subscription to a JAMA Network journal, you can participate in 10 CME activities at no cost to you. Personal accounts are free.
When you engage with an activity in any way, for example, if you start a quiz, read the full HTML article or open the PDF, view part of a video, etc., the number of activities shown at the top of the screen will be reduced. This does not mean that you have completed the activity or claimed credit. You are free to go back and complete the activity at any time.

There is no limit to the number of users at this time. Users in an institution receive 10 CME activities per user, per year. The activities appear in users’ accounts as soon as they create a new account or sign in. These activities are valid within a calendar year, e.g., if a user signs in on November 30th, 2017, all 10 CME activities must be completed by midnight on December 31st, 2017. Unused activities will not carry over into the new year.
The most direct way is to go directly to the JN Learning home page at jamanetwork.com/learning. Links to JN Learning can also be found on the articles with CME courses, and in other locations throughout the site, including the main dropdown menu on the left. If a user signs in from within an institution’s IP range, access to ten CME activities per user are automatically provided as part of an institutional subscription. See examples below.
