Paper Issues

I just wanted to share some layouts today that I have created for several of the challenges over on the Paper Issues Facebook group. I haven’t had much time to share things on my blog lately with it being the summer holidays and the kids taking up all my time. So my blog has been neglected so much. I do hope that with the school routine getting back on track my blog will get more love this year. Of course I have been still sharing a lot on my Instagram.

Pretty much all the my layouts I have used my Hip Kits for all four of these layouts. I am still in love with these kits, I love how versatile they are, how you can mix and match the kits together even makes it super easy to create layouts with them.

Just Nick Studio – October Layouts

Hi everyone,

I haven’t been doing a lot of creating lately but today I am going to share my design team layouts for Just Nick Studio for October.

My first layout features Pretty Little Studio’s – Here Come’s The Sun collection. How amazingly adorable is this collection – I couldn’t resist buying lots of it to create my layout. I have used two different Just Nick Cut Files on my layout: Heart Explosion Background and the Simple Scallop Strips and I loved using the bright pops of colour from the this collection behind both of the cut files on my page.

My second layout is a Halloween inspired layout and I went all out girly pretty Halloween style for this one! I love creating texture with cut files so I cut out the Hey Spidey Background cut file in white cardstock and then layered it back onto white again. I added pops of mint green patterned paper under some of the sections of web and added the puffy stickers and enamel dots to the points and negative spaces of the web as well. I loved the ‘Too cute to spook’ title from the 31 cut file set was just perfect for the sentiment that I wanted to portray. I cut this out on black cardstock pop dotted it to add some dimension to my page and used this as my title.

Just Nick Studio | September 2016

Hi everyone,

Today, I am sharing two layouts I have done for Just Nick Studio in September. Gosh I love love love love the Just Nick Cut files. They are just AMAZING. Anyway. My first layout is a collaboration with Stuck Sketches. If you want to play along with the sketch then you might just win a $25 voucher to the Just Nick store!! This is the sketch:

I had been eyeing up the fabulous Summer Fun and Summer Lovin’ cut files and enjoyed using the icons from the Summer Fun set as embellishments on my page – there are lots of elements that are perfect for beachy photos in this set. I then created my title ‘Make A Splash’ from the Summer Lovin’ cut file set. Don’t be afraid to split up the cut files to make them work on your layouts as I have done on my title here to frame my bottom photo.

My second layout is also a photo from Fiji of Gary and myself. I also used the Summer Fun set on this layout. This is such a fun set to use with lots of cute icons for summer. I ungrouped and enlarged the ‘anchor’ and cut it out on patterned paper and placed it under my photo to ‘anchor’ my photo so to speak! I also used the play on the word anchor in my title ‘You Anchor Me’ which is a fun way of linking my photo to the cut file as well. I also cut out the pineapple and the watermelon shape from the cut files and added them as embellishments

Jillibean Soup

Hi everyone,

Today I am sharing a layout and a couple of cards that I created for the Jillibean Soup DT call. I didn’t make the team but I sure had lots of fun creating them – they are such fun products to work with and perfect for both layouts and cards.

For my layout and also on the two cards I used Jillibean Soup Alphabet Soup II collection with a few bits and bobs from stash. This collection is great for school layouts and I also did a thank you card for Aimee’s kindy teachers when she recently moved kindy.

Just Nick Studio | Jillibean Soup Collaboration

Hi everyone,

This month I was lucky enough to be part of the Just Nick Studio and Jillibean Soup collaboration!! How wicked is that. I was lucky enough to receive the fabulous Alphabet Soup II collection to create with. Wow … I just love the colours in this collection. I decided that I really wanted to create a layout using the new ‘Quilted Background’ cut file using the ‘Mixed Veges‘ patterned paper and then team it up with lots of pops of colour from this collection to create this vibrant layout of my daughter. At school, when they have been good listeners they get to bring the Listening Bear home with them for some adventures before they head back to school the next day. Taylor gets to bring home Listening Bear quite a lot – she must be a very good listener!!

Yay party time | Make a Wish | Cocoa Vanilla Studio

Today I have a layout to share for Cocoa Vanilla Studio featuring the brand new ‘Make a Wish’ collection. I always find scrapbooking birthday photos so tricky to do as the photos are usually quite busy and usually there are lots of colours going on. Well, I can tell you this collection is just amazing, you are going to want to have it to scrap your birthday pics too – This layout shows a few shots of some of the party guests – to include a few different snaps I have created a collage of four photos and printed them out on square photo. Then I set out to start embellishing and adding lots of little details with the chipboard, the stickers, the veneers and the vellum you are really spoiled for choice when it comes to embellishments in this collection.

XO | Love Always | Cocoa Vanilla Studio

Hi everyone!

Today, I have a layout to share using the absolutely stunning new collection from Cocoa Vanilla Studio called Love Always! As you might expect this collection is all about LOVE! So I decided to do a layout of my hubby and I on our wedding day.

Our Wedding album mostly sits in the cupboard as it is so big and large that we don’t really get it out very often so it is really nice to grab some of my favs from the album and create a layout with them. We don’t really have access to our photos electronically that easily so lucky in this day and age I was able to take a few photos (of the photos) with my trusty iPhone and change them from sepia to black and white! I use an app called PicFrame to create a college and then edit them in PicTapGo and print on my Canon Selphy all from the comfort of my own home!

Gosh where do I start, this collection is just amazingly beautiful.. all about LOVE and full of goodies! I loved the striped patterned paper so I was drawn to that first and love using stripes on my layouts and of course I couldn’t resist some fringing for added texture as well. I jut love the different types of embellishments in the collection from chipboard, ephemera, vellum, stickers and more – there is just something for everyone. I love how this layout came together and for me the colours are so pretty and happy how can you not enjoy scrapping with them!

Today, I have used a cut file called XO 2 from Just Nick Studio white on white cardstock to create some interesting textural and the XOXO works really well with the theme of my layout.

Before Braces | Cocoa Vanilla Studio | Made of Awesome

Hi everyone (is anyone still out there?)

Seriously though, my blog is always seems to be neglected these days. Instagram and Facebook have taken over my social media sharing but sometimes just sometimes I manage to get some layouts actually here on my blog. Today I have had to go to grab coffee and work on my laptop in order to actually sit down and sort out blogging! It really feels like I have been doing lots of creating lately but mostly for DT stuff in the future so I can’t really share it yet which probably makes me feel like I am not sharing my stuff enough but in reality I haven’t actually been able to yet.

Right so today, I have a layout I have created for Cocoa Vanilla Studio! Unfortunately, some new goodies have gotten a wee bit lost in transit on the way to me in NZ so I haven’t been able to play with any new goodies just yet. In the meantime, here is a layout with Made of Awesome.

This turned out to be a super fast layout. Probably about 20 minutes in total – I say that is a testament to such a great collection that is so easy to work with. There embellishments are perfect and fit well with boys of all ages and the patterned papers work really well together as well. Liam got his bottom braces put on his teeth on the 14th June so I wanted to take a before photo of him with his teeth so we could compare later. It has been a long time coming with many orthodontist appointments before Liam had finally lost enough teeth and we were ready to go. The weird thing is the same orthodontist that did my braces is now doing Liam’s braces!
