Very sluggish, keeps timing out. Everyone buying the freebie? -

Well, so I can and it's not at all clear how it managed to order them. I think they're ordered by when I bought them in the library by default, but yes, I have managed finally to figure out how to move them about. Thanks.

Hopefully you switched to Dorico and are farther along with that than the more recent massive wave of people from Finale. Daniel Spreadbury and his team are a class act who all, even Daniel himself, constantly engage with users on the forum. It is clear they do this not because they have to, but because it is part of the ethos of who they want to be. Admittedly they have Yamaha behind them.- 15 replies

As I said on another thread. Welcome to the new regime! New management and new direction! (this discussion reminds me very much of when Sibelius, a different software platform, was taken over by a new team a few years ago.)- 15 replies

Accordance Enthusiast replied to Kristin's topic in Original Languages
I remain an enthusiast of Accordance Bible Software. However, I also feel that Accordance management is not getting the message. This relates both to the quality of the modules and the development of the program itself. I can only hope that at some stage, hopefully sooner than later, Accordance management will change the way they deal with this.- 15 replies

Kristin replied to Kristin's topic in Original Languages
Based on your multiple posts on the L forum, it seems like you have your hands full making sure L works on Sequoia. Like an individual wrote over there (who wasn't me) "It breaks my heart to see what has happened to Accordance. It just feels like the new ownership has taken an arrogant tone towards its long time users. So sad, I really like the software and have invested a lot of money in it. I made a decision not to buy anything else from them and to start rebuilding my library in L***." Your response to this thread after this was written was saying L works fine with Sequoia. I originally ignored this, but I feel like it is fine to express my frustration that Accordance employees don't seem to appreciate the seriousness of our frustration. I don't mean this sarcastically, this is a genuine comment, but what would be the point of this? As you know, before I wrote this post, I had already emailed Accordance showing redacted screenshots of my proof. This proof was concerning enough that back in August 2024 you responded to me saying "I will forward this onto management for further investigation." So given that management is already aware, what would be the point of me calling?- 15 replies

Accordance policy concerning original languages
Brian Leathers replied to Kristin's topic in Original Languages
The number of errors that Accordance Enthusiast has documented in itself is disturbing enough. But if what Kristin is saying is true, this calls into question the integrity of the modules themselves at the very least. Please Accordance, we need to hear from management about why there are so many errors in these modules and what is being done to correct them. Who is proofing them and how qualified are they? We just want answers and assurances that these documented errors are being fixed and that qualified original language experts are proofing the modules and correcting the errors. We await your answers to Kristin's legitimate concerns.- 15 replies

I haven't heard anything on this particular matter at the moment (since I've had my hands in multiple other matters at the moment). My recommendation would be to email or call Customer Service. That may get the ball rolling on an update on this.- 15 replies

Underlining/Highlighting not working Correctly
Dr. Nathan Parker replied to joewhendricks's topic in Bug Reports: Android
If you're on Windows, start a new thread with your issue (as this one is about Android) and we'll look into it for sure. -
By the way, Apple Intelligence is off by default. You literally have to turn it on and opt in before using it, so in your case, you can probably just ignore it. No export option in notes yet. However, if you ever need to recover from potential note corruption in the future, DM me and I can assist, although the update fixes some primary causes of note corruption issues moving forward.

Accordance policy concerning original languages
Kristin replied to Kristin's topic in Original Languages
Hi @Dr. Nathan Parker, It's been almost a month now, and we still haven't received clarification about Accordance's policy. Do you think we will be getting some clarification soon? I am starting to worry that the reason why there are so many errors is because Accordance doesn't require original modules to be created, proofed and/or entered by individuals with a high enough proficiency in the applicable language. Furthermore, I am worried that the proof I have that people involved were not qualified (which provoked this post) isn't the result of an unfortunate instance, but is rather the standard.- 15 replies

There's nothing in the "Apple Intelligence" features that you are required to use. Everything can be pretty easily ignored or "turned off" ("turned off" applies particularly to some of the "summary" and "organization" features in Apple Mail - I find them unhelpful for my uses). I've had no problems (and I run the Developer Beta for testing). Overall, it should be an easy upgrade (be sure to read the "Tips" items that apply to what you want to use in Sequoia as they are informative).

Underlining/Highlighting not working Correctly
Rev. Peter Tobias replied to joewhendricks's topic in Bug Reports: Android
Than you. I'm on Win 10. -
Hi @Dr. Nathan Parker, Thanks for letting me know. I think what I will try to do is just download it with v.13, and then if I run into an issue I will finally get v.14. I have been hesitant to since I am still not done manually exporting my notes, and I feel like I really need to do that before I make any change with Accordance, as I am worried about corruption issues occurring through he upgrade. The problem is, however, I have literally been exporting my notes by hand for years and am no where close to done. I assume the new update to notes you are speaking about doesn't include an export function for user created data. Is that correct? Regarding Apple Intelligence, ya, I watched a video a few days ago and I saw in the settings where you can turn it off. After seeing that I felt safe actually downloading the new OS. I think it might be a pretty major change, as I accidentally skipped Sonoma.

Hi Kristin! RE 1: I'm running 14 without any major issues. We have an update that will be releasing shortly that also improve User Note issues, so User Notes will likely be more reliable for you with this update. RE 2: Accordance 14 is running without major issues for me on Sequoia. RE 3: Some may be able to use 13 on Sequoia, but we recommend (and only provide support for) 14 for users on Sequoia. RE 4: Overall I'm not having any major issues. I'll occasionally have a minor bug here or there with other apps or macOS in general (but that happens no matter the release) that I'll report to Apple. Overall, you should be OK. Apple Intelligence is opt-in. You won't have to turn it on after upgrading to Sequoia. So that's one thing you won't have to worry about.

A couple of questions concerning Sequoia: 1. My understanding is that v.14 is no longer having issues. I know it had a super rocky start being released before it was ready, but at this point it is working fine. Is this correct? 2. My understanding is that v.14 is working perfectly fine with Sequoia. I am planning on downloading Sequoia in the next few days, but I won't if Accordance doesn't work correctly. 3. I am still on v.13 (I bought v.14 with the pre-order but haven't downloaded it yet). My understanding is that Accordance's official stance is that v.13 might not work right with Sequoia, but that in reality there are a lot of users here who are on Sequoia and using v.13 without a problem. Is this correct? 4. Apart from Accordance, has anyone had Sequoia issues? Thanks, Kristin

Searching verbs in Peshitta OT/NT
Accordance Enthusiast replied to gegham73's topic in Original Languages
You have to search for one half of your answer first, e.g. [VERB APHEL] Then, in a second tab, search for [VERB (Peal, aphel)] @ [HITS Peshitta NT-Tagged 1] (you will have to change "Peshitta NT-Tagged 1" to your tab's name if it differs). In the options for searching hits, select "Lemma/Lexical form."
